Guest guest
Dear , I agree with your insightful analysis of the AAP's apparent " conversion " which is an old trick I have seen before - like 25 years ago to be exact when they pretended to be our " partners " in the creation of the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986. The AAP is not a friend. Never has been, never will be. Bernie Rimland knew that better than most and I wish so much he were here to give us his perspective. As I stated in an earlier thread this morning and apologize to those who are also on this one and have already read my following comments: While it is nice that the AAP leadership has been pressured into exploring alternative health care interventions to try to heal already vaccine injured children, what are they going to do to prevent the vaccine damage from occurring in the first place? When are they going to stop instructing their members to give a two month old baby eight vaccines on one day or stop sanctioning pediatricians to report parents, who refuse to do that, to social services to be brought up on charges of child medical neglect? When are they going to make it clear that when a child regresses physically, mentally and emotionally after vaccination that no more vaccines should be given until it can be determined the regression is not vaccine-related? When are they going to stop bullying the media and interfering with the right of the free press to educate the public about vaccine risks - like the Eli Stone script attempted to do? At NVIC, as Vicky well knows from first-hand experience, we are overwhelmed with the numbers of vaccine reactions, injuries and deaths that are reported to us every day - and this has been the way it has been for the past 26 years. I take no comfort in this announcement that the AAP is willing to find better ways to mop up the damage done when their policies have caused it. Been there, done that with the AAP in the early 1980's when they pretended they wanted to give the children " simple justice " by getting the 1986 law creating the VICP passed. Then what did the leadership of the AAP do after the law was passed? They narrowed the contraindications to vaccination so much that almost no child qualifies under AAP policies for a contraindication. And those contraindications are now used by state health officials to DENY a child a medical exemption if a doctor does not adhere strictly to the AAP contraindications when writing a medical exemption. The AAP Red Book Committee and the CDC ACIP Committee are the two policymaking committees in this country who are directly responsible for what has happened to our children in the past three decades. Until the AAP admits the role that vaccines play in the poor health outcomes of at least some children and do something to identify high risk children and screen them out of the mandatory vaccination program they have created and perpetuate, I don't think we should be patting them on the back and pretending like they are the good guys.
