Guest guest
Hi , I'm going to address the HBOT question first. I read about HBOT a lot on another list I'm on (oxyplusegroups). It is great stuff. The studies and personal stories are amazing and wonderful. I don't have any specifics about use with autism, but I would suggest that you contact . She and her husband run an HBOT clinic near Santa Barbara CA. She posts to the list all the time about HBOT, and is very generous with her informtion, and happy to look up references, etc. She often posts the results of studies. Her website is: http://www.HBOT4U.com/ (page loads slowly) is in it to help people... I think the story of her family and how HBOT helped them is on the website. (I'm not sure.) I think hers is one of those cases where seeing results leads to passionate desire to spread the word. I think that kind of dedication will be easy for you to understand (given the nature of this list, for example.) (I'm copying on this note: I hope I have represented you correctly, , and please correct me, if not.) To read a short general summary about HBOT: http://www.oxytherapy.com/faq/hbo.html While we are on the subject, HBOT is one of several " oxygen therapies " . The others are great too. I really recommend reading more about it to any of you. Good places to start would be oxyplusegroups, ozonetherapyegroups, and www.oxytherapy.com. Okay, that's the end of my comment on HBOT. On to the part about dosages: I don't know about Kirkman's.... I think they require an Rx for DMSA??? The only place I know of that does NOT require an Rx for DMSA is VRP. (www.vrp.com) The ALA I bought at the health food store is 100 mg capsules. They are VERY tiny capusules (which is great for people like me who don't like to swallow pills ) The DMSA that VRP sells is also 100 mg. I haven't bought it so I am not sure about form (capsules or tablets). I would assume that you can open the capsules and take out 1/2 the powder to use less.... but the fractions get hard with small amounts. I think you got the amounts correct, but I'll let someone else confirm..... I keep double-checking on my own numbers. (It would be easier to figure if it was just expressed in pounds of body weight instead of kg..... ) Let's see, since you need 30 - 60 mg for each dose, maybe you could open up enough capsules for a whole day, then divide it up into portions? It may be hard to get exact with the amounts..... I think your choices would then be to put it into empty capsules, or to mix into food. Food sounds easier! Handling small amounts of the powder sounds kinda tricky..... let us know if you figure out any " tricks " to that! best, Moria ----------- RESPONDING TO: Message: 3 Date: Mon, 1 Jan 2001 15:23:45 EST From: lcshals@... Subject: Standard strength and form of ALA and DMSA What form does ALA and DMSA come in (capsule, caplet, gelcap, liquid, powder??) and is there a standard strength that it's available in? I'm particularly interested in the supplements that are available without the doctor's Rx from HFS or Kirkman's. If a child weighs 65 pounds (29.5 kg), the dosage would be approximately 30-60 mg for both DMSA and ALA every 3-4 hours round the clock for 3-4 days and then off 3-4 days...is this right? And urinalysis run every few weeks? Start at the higher dosage and reduce it by half if negative effects occur??? Have patience with me... just want to be sure I'm clear with what I'm reading : ). Perhaps a silly question but, if the child is quite healthy prior to chelation are the risks of side effects less? Someone else posted a few days ago about HBOT. The doctor we saw mentioned using this as well. If anyone had any + or - comments about this therapy I'd also be interested hearing.
Guest guest
You are right, Moria, is an angel and NOT in it for the money. I believe she is close to San Bernardino, and she charges pennies compared to other HBO clinics. >http://www.HBOT4U.com/ (page loads slowly) > > is in it to help people...
