You have to be using NuTriVene-D to join the DSNutrition listserve but do not have to be using any type of supplement to join the TNI listserve. Guest guest
Thanks ! Might give the list a try. Is it very active. The DS listserve was just too many e-mails and flames for me. We were on Nutrichem for awhile but I stopped it due to constipation. Thanks mom to Landon (Ds) and Ashton 21 months lauranra@...> wrote: > > Don't you have to be using TNI to join? Thanks mom to > Landon (Ds) and Ashton 21 months Too busy for me and that is why while I am still " officially " on the list I have had my settings at " no mail " for a LONG time now. I stopped for the very same reasons (constipation) when was about Landon's age BUT there are ways to work around that with NuTriVene-D. I regret ever having taken off of the stuff BUT at least I have him on it now (he was off for a year and taking him off of it did clear up the constipation.....he hasn't had any since we restated him back up approx. 1 yr. ago). Guest guest
Hey No you don't have to be using it.....just maybe curious about it! There is a mum on the list, D.J., and she doesn't have her children on it. It is a heavily moderated list though and they don't enjoy the chit chat types posts that we enjoy here, I have to say! Just the facts Mac!! Have you been receiving any of my Emails?? We were very shortly going to start our little 6 month old Caleb on it, but I have to say that he constipates VERY easily as it is....should we rethink putting him on it? He got constipated with one day of formula that had iron in it, and didnt go for five days. Another time I tried giving him a little cereal fortified with iron in a little breast milk, and sure enough, he got constipated again. Is it the iron in the nutrivene that constipated your children? can you please explain what happened so we can weigh this out before putting him on it and going through a terrible time with constipation? thanks, Peggy mom to , Jordan, Tyler, Dylan (ds), and Caleb (ds, and trisomy 9p)

I can't remember exactly what the problem is because we no longer have that problem....if you give a little less or more (can't remember) of the enzymes that is suppose to help with the constipation. NuTriVene-D does not have iron in it because iron is bad for individuals with down syndrome. Staying away from iron fortified formula and cereals for babies with ds is a good idea. If you get on the TNI listserve I believe that they have some abstracts on the reasons why iron isn't good for individuals with ds unless they have anemia. Or, I can probably send you some stuff privately....just ask.
Guest guest
Peggy, I had Landon on Nutrichem but that formula tended to constipate him. That is the vitamin therapy out of Canada. I'm considering Nutrivene now to see how he does with that. mom to Landon (Ds) and Ashton 21 months --- PeggyLago@... wrote: > In a message dated 3/29/00 4:28:22 PM Eastern > Standard Time, > lauranra@... writes: > > << I stopped for the > very same reasons (constipation) >> > > Are you ladies saying that you had your children on > Nutrivene D and it caused > constipation? > We were very shortly going to start our little 6 > month old Caleb on it, but I > have to say that he constipates VERY easily as it > is....should we rethink > putting him on it? > He got constipated with one day of formula that had > iron in it, and didnt go > for five days. Guest guest
Thanks , Think I might give it a try. Do you use the Piracetam too? Can I have the web address for Nutrivene D? Also Car, what is that address to the website Dixie has? You know, Nicki was on the cover or something one time. Thanks, --- <lauranra@...> wrote: > > Thanks ! Might give the list a try.
