Guest guest
Leigh, My triplets were born at 33 weeks and supposedly just made the cut off to receive the vaccination (synergis). We have Cigna insurance. We were told that (ds) automatically qualified!!! Your should have as well! Of course she would have been more susceptible to catching it. Insurance cos. are so stupid! I would write a letter to your insurance company. I can't believe how horrible it can be to deal with them. I sure hope gets well fast and that doesn't get it. I am so angry because for the last three months I have been trying to get her the vaccination but the insurance co wouldn't pay for it because she didn't meet the criteria (it's about $1000 a shot). Apparently, they've changed the premie criteria from 35 weeks (what she was) to 32 weeks. Well, I'm sure our little visit to the ER and the hospital admission cost them at *least* what it would have cost to prevent this whole episode. She's still not doing too well and I was tentative about bringing her home but the IV seemed to be really bothering her so here we are. Has anyone else had a child with RSV? How did it affect the twin? It's very difficult to make sure you wash you hands each time you switch from holding one to the other. I just know he's going to get it.
