Guest guest
Hi , As I have written before, Sara, too, has had chronic runny nose and makes chronic rattly noises from her sinuses since September. She has been on 6 different antibiotics since Sept. The last antibiotics, Duricef, cleared her nose a bit, but she is still very rattly. Her Dr. said to not put her on any more antibiotics for now, but to continue to use Naxanex, a nose spray. A month ago, she was prescribed a sterioid (Prelone) for two weeks to open up her sinuses. I cannot say that it helped at all, so I understand your fear. I am ready to actively search for a pediatric ENT anywhere in the country who knows a lot about Down Syndrome and sinuses. Does anyone know a doctor like that? My sympathies are with you....Other mothers I have connected with say their children outgrew their chronic runny noses at age 8 or 9; others have said having adenoids out really helped...but not Sara...it is frustrating.
