Guest guest
Hi - I hope the barium swallow will be OK. Nicki has had major probs with apirating in the past too. She got pneumonia because of it and I thought it would never resolve. She has, at 2 1/2, finally 'grown' out of it and over the last year, her little muscles have strenthened enough so that she can sit or stand and bend over without vomiting. It seemed to coincide with increased sitting and standing which, I guess, strengthened all the areas concerned. SHe still has the occasional spill if she has a cold but nothing like before. At one stage I had 35 bibs on the go and they were all well used!! Both girls were given a barium swallow to find out what was going on but they found nothing abnormal...the doctors put it down to low muscle tone. Having said that though, on and were really refluxy babies, constantly refluxing anytime after feed! It's a wonder either of them thrived! Good luck on Wednesday and I hope it's all good news!
