Guest guest
Margaret- Don't rule out home schooling if the only thing holding you back is a lack of teaching credentials. You can do it and do it well. I have two degrees in education and I believe the biggest success is found by motivated people. I could say so much more but it is 11:04 p.m....4:45 a.m. is coming...I'm sure you all get what I am saying. what mommies do Last Christmas, we gave the boys a dollhouse to start the imagination play, and when Drew came down and showed the boys the doll house, the first thing Greyson did was to put Mommie to bed. I loved it!!!! that is correct that is where I should be. i still need at least a weeks worths of sleep to even try and be a normal person. We are still having tramas over 's IEP. Sorry I have been out of the loop with everything going on. Now they have told us is not eligible for community service in our county so we are trying for City of Atlanta with not a great deal of hope. They now offer us a new class but I am not allowed to walk him to class nor observe the class at all. I have a problem with this in that cannot tell me what is going on at school. I don not trust our school systems, I have heard too many horror stories. remains to be a sweet sensitive gentle little person that wants despertely to be loved and accepted. I cannot see putting her in a situation where he will be yelled at berrated into doing what makes their job easier. I wish I had an education background where i could just keep him at home and teach him myself. Its too cruel and I love him far too much. I have loved seeing all pictures of everyone. Anyone who will be in Atlanta, please let us know, Rusty and , Karin??? Would love to get together. Hope everyone has a wonderful thanksgiving!!!! We will be atking to a psychologist because feeding has gotten so terrible on the Monday after Thanksgiving - will let everyone know. Margaret w/. Greyson and - 3 and Annice - 18 mos. Guest guest
Hi Margaret - I could not believe what I heard about !! I'm from Texas so I'm not very savvy about other states but I do know it is against the law for them not to allow you to observe at least thru a window. My Rudy is now in 6th grade and I still pop in from time to time but when he was 3 and just starting school I went at least once a week. Had they tried to tell me otherwise, the " Mama Bear " in me would have torn them to shreads!! I've been very fortunate that all of his teachers have encouraged us parents to come in whenever and also to participate whenever we can! You might want to suggest a snack day, like Wed or Fri, where a parent comes and provides the class with snacks, or even perhaps everyday, so that there is a parent there for awhile every day. I have found that parents usually have the same concerns for the sp ed kids but some are just not as vocal as others. Usually if one suggests things to the others and they unite, changes can be made. Just one " older " parent's idea. Good luck to you & HAPPY THANKSGIVING!! mom to Rudy (ds) & 12, TJ
