Guest guest
Hello everyone! I have a napping question for everyone. The morning nap and afternoon nap, Tara {who has Ds} always wakes up before . could sleep longer if I let him both times. My question is, with Tara waking up sooner all the time, is this a Ds issue or just her? I'm kind of concerned because I know the growth hormone is released during sleep. is already 2 inches taller than Tara! But, they both go to bed around 8:30-9:00 every night, and Tara does sleep through, and it's who gets up first every morning! Thanks Gail mom to Bobby-5, Jillian-3, and Tara{Ds}7months
Guest guest
I believe this is just Tara being Tara. In matter of fact, I often hear that babies with DS sleep MORE than babies without DS. If you ask me, Tara has it down right... sleep at night, up at day to play! I have heard the opposite....well, maybe not with babies but with older children. sleeps the least in our family. He farts around ALOT in his room. He usually runs around his room like a mad man for about a hour before he shits and then sleeps.....he gets in and out of bed on his own. Of cource, myself or dad gets to clean him up and then that gets him going for another hour.
Guest guest
Hmmm.. well, ok... our first R-rated post? LOL In reply to your first sentence, yes, I hear that often times kids with DS sleep less. But as babies, they sleep more (or so I hear). Maybe it all equals out in the end. ) Seems that has quite the bedtime ritual there. Never a dull moment, eh? Cheers, Sara --- <lauranra@...> wrote: > >I believe this is just Tara being Tara. I would take that over what his sister's do!!! At least is happy when he is up. His sister's are up all hours of the night complaining...never happy. entertains himself. Playing with the door stopper, ripping his Winnie the Pooh wallpaper boarder off of the walls, tearing his curtains apart, eating books, eating poop....you name it, he's done it. Guest guest
LOL....... Sara I agree that was a cute ritual bedtime for .. My kids sleep more than regular kids. Always thought it was part of DS. slept alot when she was a baby then as she got older the more she is up this is the first year since she has being going to school that she takes no NAP... the both are in bed by 7:30 to 8:00 and up around 6:30 to 7:00 I don't mind it though except when Rusty keeps me up most of the night(hubby). Well I am off see all of yall later.. mom of 6(DS) and Dayton 17 months(DS) Re: Sleeping ? >From: Sara Greenberg <dsyndrome@...> > > >Hmmm.. well, ok... our first R-rated post? Guest guest
Re: Sleeping ? Gosh - you sound REALLY thrilled with antics! LOL!!!! I am so lucky that Emma and Nicki are both good sleepers. I still Emma in a cot otherwise she'd be doing the same as . Emma and Nicki share a room - very cute but very noisy!!! I have resorted to putting a cot in my room so they can have day naps separately without disturbing each other. Nite-time they are so shattered they go to sleep quite quickly. Nicki signs 'bed' if she wants to go to bed earlier than normal....very cute! Emma wakes Nicki up at around 6.30am. Emma (3 1/2) still has an afternoon naps but I can see she is going to drop that soon. No more surfing the net in the afternoons!! DRAT!!! Both Emma and Nicki were very sleepy babies.....I had to wake Emma up for her feeds. I don't think she ever realised she was hungry until she was about 5 weeks old. Mum To on, (sleeps standing up), Emma(ds) 3 1/2 and Nicki (ds) 2 1/2 > From: " " <lauranra@...> >> > > Really? Guest guest
Rudy (ds) has had a sleep disorder his entire life (almost 13) and for the life of me I cant ever remember the name. Anyway, when he was little he would literally fall asleep in his food, be laughing one second - snoring the next, even yesterday, he feel asleep on the floor at K-Mart!! lol His twin is the opposite, she is always lively but also has no problems going to sleep at nite. , mom to Rudy (ds) & 12, & TJ
