Hi Joan,

I hope Andy is going to be ok. Is he starting to eat? Thanks for the heads up

on the book. I can't wait to read it. Tell me the title again so I can order

it. Remember, you promised to sign it for me. Life is always crazy in my

house too. Zeb decide to run away yesterday morning before we were up. He

walked to his grandparents with suitcase in tow in his underwear, tshirt and

sandals. It was 38. I was relieved that someone didn't call the police. He

knows his way to his grandparents but this is a first. He told them he was

mad at Mom for yelling at him because he had the tv on, yes, before dawn full

blast. Life goes on.

Hi Joan,

The book sounds great. I'm pretty new to this group - one thing that has

always concerned me is that Hannah's menu is so very limited. Is this

typical for DS/Aut? Our protein consists of corn dogs, fish sticks,

peanutbutter and Mc's hamburgers. I've always felt guilty about the way

I feed her - we do make her try new things but she just doesn't seem to like

very much. Anybody else out there like this?

Blessings,

a (Mom to Hannah 5 DS/Aut)

Wow Joan! I cannot wait to read the book! Thank goodness you have had some

great news to follow a " creepy " week. grabbed a hot-dog off the

counter when he was two and choked. We were not so lucky....He was down for

5 minutes and it did enough brain damage to cause some crippling on one side.

Now I am a fanatic on things that can choke children; I have been known to

go up to complete strangers and warn them of hazards!

gives no thought about such things. Unlike many in the group, he

will eat anything! His siblings have been caught several times getting him

to try spicy or weird things. just laughs! He also has no idea when

to stop. I believe that he would just eat until he explodes! Sometimes I

think that he has a tapeworm since he is so thin! I look forward to using

your book for our whole family!

nathan has always been a very picky eater, and his chewing probs and

swallowing difficulties dont hlep mattters much but his protien consits of

peanut butter and the occasional fast food hamburger--not many restaurants

in our small town---I have found those made patties eg: chix breast patties,

are much more tolerated and esier chewed and swallowed with little to no

gagging and never a choking incident, and we can put it on a bun if we want

and he thinks its a burger, and there are many differnt kinds of patties out

there mc rib kind, fish, chix brest, breaded, etc. As for the vigies, natha

seems to tolerate the baby food one so th is is good!!!, finally getting

some veigies in that system, lol. Hope helps. shawna.

a;

is the same way. Corn Dogs, Hot Dogs, Chicken nuggets or fish sticks

is about all we can get him to eat. We try to give in other things, but he

just takes two bites and says his all done. I don't know how to get him to

eat better. He actually loves the veggies that other kids won't even look

twice at. He loves asparagus, Brussels sprouts, celery and carrots.

Veggies and fruit are not a problem, it's the main meals where I can't seem

to get nutrition. I am looking forward to Joan's book to help out. Thanks

Joan!!!!
