Guest guest
I just got back online after my computer was down, and my Dad in the hospital. I wanted to take a minute and defend not only myself- ( who is no way on a " power trip " or conceited) and the DrAmysKids group. I wanted to explain that we welcome anyone who is chelating through a physician, and is following Dr. Holmes, ElDahrs, or Caves protocol; or who is an actual patient of Dr. Holmes. Kathleen was turned down ONLY because she told me in her application letter that she was chelating on her own. Much of the info that is shared on DrAmysKids is sensitive in nature- we share not only the same protocol, but we share our days, good and bad with each other. The reasons I am moderating this list closely is these: 1. I feel that as parents, we need a place to go to vent, share, and find SUPPORT. This is a support group for people who arent just chelating- but for people using the SAME protocol. And also, I personally believe that there can be alot of risks in chelating without a doctors supervision, and wouldn't want to encourage anyone to do so. 2. In the past, on this group ( and I have gotten alot of good info from this group- and am still a member..) there has been several 'arguments/ discussions) about which way is right or best- alot of time has been spent on that. For myself, and the majority of the DrAmys group, we have already decided which is the 'right' one for our children- So, forgive me for bringing it up again, but I felt the need to explain and defend my actions. God Bless you all! Maranie Mom to :Dean 4, PDD-NOS; 9, NT; and Zack 12, NT [ ] Dr. AMY's Kids Word to the wise: the egroups listing for this group says " • DrAmysKids Forum for discussing all things that go along with having an autistic/ mercury poisoned child... gf/cf diet, supplements, chelation protocol, etc. A place for encouragement, and friendship! " HAHA Yeah right, they have you email the moderator to tell why you want to join and then they deny membership. Talk about some woman on a power trip. Yep I am mad that I wasted my time for some concited woman...no help here don't bother to waste your time..... " Education is a continuous process ending only when ambition comes to a halt. " -- R.I. Guest guest
Dear Maranie, I requested to be placed on the Dr. Amy's Kids list a couple of days ago and haven't yet heard from anyone about whether or not I am on it. Can you tell me what I need to do to gain entrance? FW: [ ] Re: Dr. AMY's Kids > > > ><You want phone #'s, infor. Guest guest
Hello Listmates, I seriously did not mean to start a war so to speak. I was not "obviously" the only blonde that did not get the title. (Ps no offense to any blondes! ) =) I say "let's forget about the group (dr.Amy's) and get on with this one. I figure in the long run ......we don't need them, we have each other here. I have received so much great information here and I don't want that to change. Take care all and have a good weekend, Kathleen =) "Education is a continuous process ending only when ambition comes to a halt." -- R.I. Guest guest
I am sorry but I must jump in here. I have been on this list for quite sometime, and the Dr Amy list from its inception. This little bickering back and forth is exactly what is not allowed on that list. That is one reason it began in the first place. There are no negative comments, bickering, belittling, etc. and this makes for enjoyable corresspondance. is a non moderated say anything list. Several of us on this list were being sharply criticized for our protocols and being blasted quite severly. By doing a Dr. Amy list, we know we are all doing the same protocol, so there is no need for criticism and " my way is better " posts. We all do basically the same thing. With the exception of doses which is of course based on a persons weight and age. So come on guys, lay off of Maranie. She stepped in and gave us aplace to go a few months back when there were some major problems on and Dr Amys patients did not feel comfortable posting. There was some guy tellin g parents to give there child DMSA 24 hours a day 7 days a week. And we were the bad guys for following a Drs care. Anyway, enough Maranie bashing. She never advertised to this list for anyone to join. Someone else made a post and she quickly spoke to her in regards to that. Not every site on the internet is open to the public. And if you are not following Dr Amys protocol, we would probably just bore you anyway. No, I dont know Maranie. Just trying to get her a fair shake. The cat fighting really should stop. Very unproductive. Wendi Dupuy FW: [ ] Re: Dr. AMY's Kids > > > >> >> > > > >> >> > > > >> >> ><You want phone #'s, infor. Guest guest
Kathleen, what is your problem ?? You stir up a hornets nest bitching about a few parents who want to share info privately and then tell this list we dont need them anyway. Why are you so threatened ? If you are not following the Holmes protocol who cares if they have a seperate list ? Most of the Dr.Amy parents are still on this list contributing so why try and force this list to split, what is your motive ??? rgds paul ps See there is no info about who you are on the members list, can you introduce yourself maybe ? There are so many people reinventing themselves on e.groups these days its nice to know who is behind strong comments. --- Kathleen <kathaed@...> wrote: > Hello Listmates, > I seriously did not mean to start a war so to speak. > I was not " obviously " the only blonde that did not > get the title. Guest guest
ya'll may have started your own "lists" to help keep "on topic" while clogging this list with your reasons. who cares? What does this all have to do with AUTISM-MERCURY connection? I know ALOT of people have left this list due to the bickering......lets get back to helping OUR kids. If you subscribe to a private list and they deny you dont cry about it to everyone else we already have enough EMAIL, chalk it up to valuable information they may be losing out on. Please dont respond to this email as my intent is not to start another debate, just to stop unnecessary ones.
Guest guest
I am guilty of starting an " exclusive clique " so fire the torpedoes away at me. There may be very sound reasons for setting up a private email list. In my case, I run a private email list with 425+ families who homeschool children in the autism spectrum. We conciously made the decision to go private because we did not want a list that subverted our intent. We did not want college students doing research on families who homeschool. We did not want teachers bogging us down in whether or not homeschooling is a viable option. We did not want the curious joining and asking, " But what about socialization? " Running a private list has great advantages. For example, if you want to stick to a tight topic with no off-topic discussions, you have the ability to remove repeat offenders. If you have rules about ads or flame wars, you can remove repeat offenders. Dr. Amy may have legitimate reasons for starting a private email list.
