Guest guest
Tali, In the archives, message number 2798 from A. Cutler states: Minerals shold never ever ever ever ever be stopped or even varied depending on whether the kid is taking a chelator or not. The literature is exceptionally clear on this for anyone who goes over the published numbers, or who goes over the urine tests for people before and during chelation. I also recall Dr. Holmes recommending no Zinc should be given while chelating - but only on " off " days....so this represents a point of contention between these two chelation experts. Guest guest
and all, I believe that Dr. Holmes recommended taking three citramin II on the " on " days. 3 Citramin II have 21 mg of zinc. Guest guest
, Tali: I recently attended a Thorne conference and in answer to my question about giving zinc along with DMSA Dr. Walter Crinnion said zinc is so involved in so many processes that he never stops it; that DMSA will bind to the lead and mercury much sooner and we need the zinc throughout the process. At this time, I choose to not stop zinc. Jaquelyn Aly wrote: > Tali, In the archives, message number 2798 from A. Guest guest
Thank you so much for your response. I just called my husband and read the answer to him. He said " excellent, print it " or words to that effect. I think he wants to have a name of a doc to discuss this issue with our doc. Thanks again. You guys are an outstanding source of information for these obscure questions. Guest guest
Jaquelyn, Thank you so much for mentioning this question to Dr. Crinnion. I have not stopped giving zinc during chelation but I have found that it can really upset his stomach about 30 minutes after giving the pill (usually at night). I think I will try dividing it and giving it with meals - It is Zinc Picolinate from metagenics and the pill contains: 100mg of raw pancreas concentrate, 80 mg of picolinic acid, 20 mg of zinc (zinc picolinate) , and 10 mg of B6. Thank you so much again for your concern and reply. Much appreciated. Guest guest
Yes, Sara, I think I should do that and next week will try a change and observe. Thanks for your suggestion. Guest guest
and Sara, I always give minerals with food because they upset my stomach horribly when I take them on an empty one. I also think, , your idea of dividing the Zinc up into smaller doses is a good one, too. Anything that will make it easier for the child! since we'll be doing this for a relatively long time!
