Guest guest
<<Hey, I wasn't sure who I was writting to, sorry I mistook you letter for someone else. How old is ? It sounds as if she has autistic stuff, " pica " . My son has this also, he has high functioning autism(Asperger's). It is amazing how gross our kids can be but only to others mind you Have you had a Doctor check about removing her uterus? It seems harsh but if the doctor understood all your girl has been through it makes more sense then Depro shots. I would callthe doctor frequently to let him know what is doing. Also who knows if she is having pain? I never know with Jenna, she can be up all night and then she gets her period. I know she has cramps. Anyway I was trying to figue out what else you could do, can you put a one piece or leotard with snaps as a shirt under the overalls? I did that when Jenna was pulling apart her diapers. You can get all colors, and styles, high neck, scoop neck etc. Also short, long or no sleeves. It is harder to change her or to use the bathroom but it will be harder for her to get at stuff. Take care, and Good Luck! Lynn G.>> Hi Lynn, Sorry for the confusioin. My husband is Gordon Burnett & my name is Nunn. I really should figure out how to put my name on my messages. Anyway, the other thing is that I get the Digest form of the List so I can't hit " reply " to any particular message. I sometimes " copy & paste " . Anyway, you'll get the hang of it soon enough. will be 15 tomorrow & she has lots of autistic characteristics, pica being one of them. Unfortunately, she has not been dx'd with autism (Isn't it strange how your perspective can change? I said UNfortunately!). They just say she's very low functioning Downs. Anyway, the people on this List have been so supportive & I really feel that I belong here, so I think I'm here to stay! Thanks for the hints on different types of clothing I could try to keep Steph out of her pants. Regarding the pain, I am sure that Steph has cramps. She holds her tummy & moans (a little) - her pain threshold is pretty high. I discussed her having a hysterectomy with our OBGYN (who is a paediatric OBGYN), & she said that it is next to impossible to get a the hospital ethisist to approve a procedure such as this (here in Canada). There have been some law suits. Do you know of any cases like this in the U.S.? In our case, since is 14 - 18 months cognitively, there's no question about taking away her right to reproduce. She's an infant in a young woman's body! Anyway, the OBGYN thought we should try the depo provera & see how it goes. As I said before I hate giving her medication. You have made me re-think this whole issue & I will continue to keep suggesting the possibility of a hysterectomy. Thanks for responding. Take care,
