Jscott asks:

Hmmm..... Vaccine recall.... so what do you do.... bring your child back in to the doctor and have him take out the original vaccine he put in?

Jeepers.... a recall! It is almost too ridiculous for words. Unbelievable how they dare to play with the health of our children!

I hadn't thought about it in that way. Of course you are "right on target".

How does anyone "recall" a vaccine already injected into an unsuspecting child? How does one "recall" a lifetime of parents worried over the possible health consequences their child may suffer decades in the future?

In any event, I seriously doubt Merck is covered under the product liability protection statutes provided them by former Sen Bill Frist. Obviously, the contamination was caused by corporate carelessness, no different from Mobil Oil Company's Exxon Valdez oil spill off the coast of Alaska. Surely the same standard of corporate liability applies to both corporations?

In any event, Merck corporation must not be allowed to simply mumble "recall" and walk away from their careless distribution of 1.2 million doses of contaminated vaccine into our childhood vaccine supplies. Especially when their product is required by the state for a child to receive a public school education in our country.

Any monies recovered from Merck can be directed towards Vaccine Court awards for families damaged by vaccines.

The question is: Which deserves more compensation....carelessness that threatened the waters of Alaska....or....carelessness that threatened our precious children? See AOL's top rated recipes and easy ways to stay in shape for winter.
