Hi! I'm gone for three days, and there are hundreds of emails! Sorry

if I've missed any with questions.

Donna- Happy Belated Birthday! Can't wait to meet Miss Maddie!

Marisa -Yep, I work at U Penn also (Assistant Professor of Pathology

and Laboratory Medicine), so if you are ever in the neighborhood, let

Donna and I know so we can get together.

My brother's wedding went better than we could have hoped for, at least

in terms of (my sister and her kids is another thing

altogether). During the actual ceremony, I had dh and in a

separate room watching teletubbies and eating cookies. The ceremony

was only about 20 minutes, and I didn't want to risk a meltdown in the

middle of their wedding. The room that had was the groom's

and the groomsmen's prep room, which they vacated just prior to the

ceremony for . Air conditioning (the only one actually at the

reception hall), private bathroom, and no doorknobs! It was a really

old building, and the door blended into the panels and if you didn't

know which panel was the door to open, you'd be stuck in there, and

this concept eluded (thankfully). It was a buffet dinner,

called up by table. We brought him into the main reception hall for

dinner with everyone together. We brought 's own high chair

so it would be familiar to him as " his seat " . We got food right away

after being seated-- doesn't always react well to waiting for

food. And, he did pretty well. He wasn't interested in eating what

was on his plate, but loved feeding it to Mom. I figured, if he was

going to feed me with a fork, I'd accept all the food he gave me--I

think he is starting to realize that I don't want to eat out of his

hand, but will take food that he places on a fork. At breakfast the

next day, he actually feed me two cheerios on a fork! But I digress...

What was unexpected for us was 's reactions once the dancing

got started after dinner. LOUD music. was drawn to it like

a fish to water. Literally, for the first 1/2 hour, the only people on

the dance floor (now granted, we got called up to eat first, so we

finished first) were and myself, and my sister and my niece.

But, was a wild man, dancing and spinning and jumping with

the music (at least as well as any typical white male). Once people

joined in, gravitated towards a group you typically see at

weddings. I'm sure you know the type: at every wedding, there are 3-4

single women, in short skirts and high heels all dancing together.

THAT's where wanted to be, even though he had never met any

of them. They thought he was adorable, and was willing to

hold hands or be picked up by any of them. Toooooo cute. You could

not pull away from the dance floor. Not even during the

electric slide, which he had no idea what to do, but he was there

jumping around and bouncing into people, who took it all in stride. I

was also concerned about 's " herding " behavior, and what he

would do, but he only herded my husband and I together at every

opportunity, and then he went off to the single girls! If my dh was

not around (and he did make himself as scarce as possible during the

dancing, " keeping my father and his wife company " ), did not

herd me into any other guy there. Although did ask one

groomsman I didn't know to pick him up during " Shout " , and so we all

danced together. The wedding photographer took alot of pictures of

dancing, so I can't wait until I see them.

I thought would sleep like a rock, but he was too wound up I

think. Typical for us in hotels, he wanted to sleep next to me. Even

though I got him to sleep in his own bed, when he woke up in the middle

of the night, he came crawling in, and I just gave in because he was

soooooooo good at the wedding.

Best wishes,

Ginny

Mom to (5yo, DS/PDD/AML in remission/100% boy)

p.s. The next day, after dancing with all the single women,

had his first zit. I kid you not. Right on his chin. Dh and I

laughed and joked about it most of yesterday. Raging horrormoans. Dh,

of course, is proud of his little " chick magnet " ....

p.p.s. Jacket and tie only stayed on for about 1/2 hour--he disliked

the tie immensely, but I think I got a few good pictures. I dropped

them off at Costco and will get them this weekend...

Hi Ginny,

Lovely post, way to go . Glad everybody had fun and all went

well. I especially loved reading how your brother was a very caring,

considerate person who thought of including his nephew at the

wedding. Now, remember whenever you're at a party and need to give it

some pep, just make sure that music is on and have show

them how to party. Yep! Natural dancer and " chick-magnet " . Say Ginny,

have you heard trying to say his name, yet? I know he is

still young but then our kids are full of surprises. Just wondering?

Hi Ginny,

The day sounded like a great success to me! I was amazed that was

able to tolerate the music. You and your dh must be so proud of him. Can't

wait to see that little man!

Ginny,

That is fantastic about how well did at the wedding!! He

sounds like one smart little guy. He knows just what to do on the dance

floor. I'd love to see Maddie, Allie and dancing together. Too

cute! And yes I will let you know too if I am coming to Philly.

Wednesday I am going on a trip to Orlando with my sister Jackie and her

baby Allie and my sister's dh. Should be fun. My little daughter Genevieve,

though is very unhappy about Mommy leaving, I will have to call her everyday

and have long chats with her about her day. They are so cute when they are

little and sweet. Of course my big boys are cute and sweet too!

ROTFLOL Ginny!!!!!!!!! TOO funny!!! The wedding I went to on Saturday

was a Latino one, so Duff and I had a BLAST watching all the incredible

dancers......they were incredible (I love Latin music). If

gravitated to the short skirted ladies at your bro's wedding, believe me, he

would have thought he died and went to heaven at this one......LOLOL

You better watch out....seems to me you have a budding casanova on your

hands!!!!

Glad you had a good time, and I hope your brother and his wife have a joyful

life together.

Donna

P.S. Methinks needs to watch Saturday Night Fever....I can just

see him in a white suit....LOL
