Guest guest
Hi All, My IEP is coming up next week for both girls. Need some input from y'all. since you have non ASD DS children I wanted to ask you if they are fully included or partially(half day in regular class and half day in special ed). Either way could you please share how it is going either way. I would appreciate it. Hannah is a very bright girl and I know she will be able to learn how to read and write in time. I just want her to be able to work and be independant when she grows up. I am having trouble decided the best way to achieve this. I know she is going to be in special ed this year but I want her to be in regular class for half a day. This is what I am going to ask for. I need to know some good goals to set for . In self help goals has anyone set a goal fro brushing teeth and taking off clothes? Things to that nature? Or any kind of goals y'all have done. I just need any input you wonderful people have. I am getting all my notes together and want to make sure I don't leave anything out. What about inclusion for our ASD kids? Have any of your children been fully included. Last year was only mainstreamed in music. I would like more this year. Hannah had circle time, lunch, music and PE with the regular class. Anyway any ideas?? Throw them my way!!! Oh yeah.........while I was sitting her typing this, walked over behind me and had a pillow from the sofa and hit me over the head with it and started laughing so hard. She has never done that before!! She is playing alot more than she use to. The DTT has really helped her!!! Thanks guys!!! Joan, I wanted to thank you for this list too. I am so hooked! I don't know what I would do if I couldn't get on here and read what you all have to say every day.
