Guest guest
http://www.pharmalot.com As FDA approval of Zyprexa in kids draws nearer, The St. sburg Times catches us up on the saga - approved in 1996 as a bold, new med only to be followed by reports of weight gain and diabetes in patients, all of which was disclosed in greater detail in lawsuits settled by Lilly for $1.2 billion and a growing number of state investigations. There was also a scandal a year ago in which internal documents, which were sealed under court order, were disclosed in what a federal judge called a conspiracy by a journalist, an expert witness for plaintiffs' attorneys, and a lawyer, who is also a mental-health advocate. The piece concludes by noting that widespread use in children, which already occurs, worries some docs.
