Yesterday was a day that multiple things went wrong. When I put a link for the current show in an email I typed it wrong. Then when I corrected it, it appeared right but when clicked retained the old link. The third correction didn't help. As the day was also a milestone birthday for me I had those odd feelings and my wife shared "I guess now everyone considers you a senior". Katy lin gave me good advice. "close your computer". I did and enjoyed the evening with my family. In the morning the sun was shining and on my email was a edited version of the copy I wrote the day before. Ellen Notbohm being the great writer that she is was able to convert my dull prose into something readable. Yet another reason to buy her books. So putting the past behind, I give you the show description once more and set my sights on not gaining any more holiday weight between now and January 2, 2008. I wish you all a safe holiday season and may the calm and peace of the season reach you heart...stan AUTISM AND THE HOLIDAYSA conversation with author Ellen Notbohm and special needs activist Katy lin“Home for the holidays?” Or, “let’s get this party started?” The holidays can be a stressful time for families under the best of circumstances. For your child with autism, they can be particularly difficult. Familiar routines are out the window and unfamiliar – and sometimes unfair – expectations arise at every turn. Listen in and hear how to empower your child with autism during this bustling time. Internationally known award-winning author and columnist Ellen Notbohm (Ten Things Every Child with Autism Wishes You Knew) and San Francisco special needs activist Katy lin join “Senior Dad” Stan Goldberg in the Autism Briefing Room, explaining how the holidays effect their children with autism and their friends and families. Hear tips what to do before and during holiday parties and strategies for graceful departure. What to do about gifts and gift lists, and how to handle the lure of those attractive TV commercials? Ellen and Katy share some of their experiences with their children and what works for them. Some of the lessons we learn apply to teaching and handling all children as well as helping us begin to understand the challenges of a family with a child with autism.show link:Http://srdad.com/SrDad/Autism/Autism.htmlStan What is RSS? you can have the descriptions of these shows in your browser home page on or google.
