If he asks me what some unusual spot in his food is I might say it's just the poison I put in. Then he laughs. If he gets a B on a math quiz, instead of the usual A, I have (a couple times) said " Oh my Gosh, that's horrible " . It depends on the child no doubt and the particular sense of humor. I also sometimes say " what do you think? " when he asks me something that is OCD. Because in 4 years -- what he thinks is all he's gonna have. (If he ever moves out).
