I don't know if your daughter is in the place to deal

with this right now but (after a little CBT) I started

using my son's (14 y/o) questions as an opportunity

for exposure therapy.

If he asks me what some unusual spot in his food is I

might say it's just the poison I put in. Then he

laughs. If he gets a B on a math quiz, instead of the

usual A, I have (a couple times) said " Oh my Gosh,

that's horrible " .

It depends on the child no doubt and the particular

sense of humor.

I also sometimes say " what do you think? " when he

asks me something that is OCD. Because in 4 years --

what he thinks is all he's gonna have. (If he ever

moves out).
