Guest guest
Aw, , I'm so sorry! For the psych and then all the stuff at home! Is that psych a private one or one from your local mental health agency?? Have you tried the local mental health center (MHC), (sorry I can't recall where all you've tried)? I'm just thinking, as I work in an office at our local MHC, that there they deal with teens and disorders, plus have psychiatrists who will prescribe meds. However, I know our adult psych wants each new person to have had a recent physical before he ever prescribes, to rule out other causes for problems. I also know that not all therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, case managers, etc., are perfect or always understand a situation. But a lot of times they do. Even working there, there are some I would prefer over others. Besides his OCD (still doing the wiping??), your son is going through sooo much right now, what with court, teenage hormones, etc., probably angry at himself (tho he won't admit it), angry at life, you, grandpa, boyfriend.... Also, he probably feels everyone is down on him, no matter how supportive they talk/seem. And throw in a " touch " of possible Aspergers and that can add in a lot of problems, including behavior/reactions, perception about what all is going on with him, within him, etc. (sorry, know I'm rambling!) One of my sons got arrested and had to go to court once. Of course I was furious at first, then was supportive through the entire process, but I really didn't realize until much later how much stress he was under during that time. We are still trying to come up with $$ to get his record cleared; paperwork is in place, just have to pay the attorney! (he was 16 then, has stayed out of trouble so can get record cleared per judge) I know you once said around where you live. What area was it again, maybe someone here now might know of a professional close by or not too far away. Well - I'm not living in your home, but take care and post here on tough days! How is your son after he's calmed down?? And I think medication should be tried, plus therapy, but meds seem indicated - in my unexpert opinion - in order to help before therapy might.
