fat redistribution

I have been on meds since 1998. I have never had any issue with aids

related diseases or low cd countss or percentages and viral loads.

While all the regimets I have been on have served me well as far as

the HIV is concerned, it is the side effects which have always been

the problem. As far as fat redistribution is concerned, I do suffer

from it. I noticed shortly after starting therapy that the fat under

my skin was dissipating. Eventually, my belly started to grow and my

torso enlarged. My legs, arms and butt withered away and my normally

round face now droops. I have a small fat pad at the base of the back

of my neck .

Several years ago, I stopped meds for 2 years having developed

pancreatitus. The doctor judged that the pancreatitus was the result

of having switched to abacavir. In those 2 years the fat

redistribution did not correct itself in the slightest. For the past

several years I continue on a regiment of Truvada, 300 mg.reyataz and

a small dosage of 100mg. norvir as a boosting agent, all taken 1 time

daily. The fat issue remains the same. My skin is thin, my belly is

protuding, my torso is large, my butt sags, my arms, and especially

my legs are abnormally thin and my face droops. It looks like the

aging process has been put on fast track.

I have read about the various cosmetic remedies which are

available and the use of androgen etc. However, I am more concerned

with any current data or suggestions on reversing the fat

redisdtribution problem through alterations in anti viral regiments.
