Guest guest
Good news - is eating again!! (don't jinx, don't jinx!!) I might repeat myself here, but where had met with Harold, my friend/acquaintance one night last week at the YMCA, he felt better some (talking about religion/scrupe issues). Then Harold had to postpone meeting last Friday p.m. and met with him after school on Monday. Harold is someone I've known since my oldest (now age 20) was young, someone I've chatted with, etc., and then I know he's a minister or working towards that. ANYWAY, was somewhat better after the first time (Harold spent about 2 hours with both of us) and got better each day. began Sunday school this past Sunday at a nearby church and we both attended church at 11 (I met him). I think the group of kids he already knows there will be good for him, I hope this works. By this, I mean he needs a social life too, OCD aside. So then Monday Harold picked up after school, spent about 45 minutes or so (I gather) with , talking Bible and just chatting. Harold told to call him anytime he needed, but nothing more was planned as is doing so well. (don't jinx!) I called to thank Harold and he said he enjoyed it also and he might just call to meet/talk anyway sometime (they apparently have some intellectual things in common - pathology, etc.) and that he was also an introvert when young and understands the problems with making friends, conversations, etc. So this all worked out great, whether they need to meet up again or not. I had received a call back from 's new church minister after I had set up the first meeting with Harold. So I went ahead and filled in the minister with the thought that we just might need to talk with him sometime in the future. He immediately said that he was familiar with OCD when I asked. (I think he said " very familiar) But talking to him, I thought I'm glad I got Harold already, as the minister wanted to know what I thought might have triggered it, peer problems or has something happened. When I said, more or less, " no " he still came back to triggering.... Listening, I thought " oh no! " I explained 's history to him, began in 6th grade (now in 11th), etc. Well, this is getting long. Also, off topic, but wanted to share this poem (see below) wrote for homework Monday night. Maybe not quite " off topic " considering the scrupe/religious stuff lately with OCD. *I* cannot write poems and so was pleasantly surprised when I read 's. ---And to Sandy, hope you see this to share with Bre!!--- ********************* " Through the Fog & Towards the Light " When it comes to being righteous And sticking to what's true, We can sometimes think that it's As easy to say as it is to do. But when faced with adversity Will we be steadfast? Through our lusts and our temptations, Can virtue truly last? We may all stray from the path And feel our fate is sealed, But no matter how far we stray, We can't to despair yield. For even when we're broken And bonds of hopelessness bind, Look through the fog and towards the light And the true path you will find.
