Amy,

Your post is so familiar to me. A couple of months ago, my daughter

was in that situation too. Repeating things, weird noises, sounds

bothering her SOOO much. It was so sad to watch. I felt like I

was " losing " her. I feel for you. My daughter switched to prozac and

is much better on it. She had been on zoloft and that was terrible.

I think it made everything worse. We added seroquel (a little) as

well. She is much better. Still very OCD, still does lots of strange

things, but it is better. I don't have that scared feeling anymore. I

do hope the medication change is helpful for her. Have you tried any

other meds besides the SSRI's? How old is your daughter? I have

heard that Topamax can be really good for OCD too. I wish you the

best and I can really understand what you are going through. I am

glad you are still able to know that it will get better. It always

does..thinking of you, Ellen

I am sorry to hear that things are so tough. I know that feeling you

are describing as a parent -it's awful to feel helpless and desparate

at the same time. I hope that it ends soon and that the medication

helps. Hugs

Hi Ellen and others,

My dd is 12 and she did try Zoloft and that was very bad for all of us. She

has never had the medications you described. The doctor wants to try the

increase first so we do not have a long wait time since she is going down

hill. I find such comfort from everyone, as it lets me know that we are not

the only family dealing with such issues. When she was first diagnosed we

felt very alone and isolated, and no one really understood. This has been a

great resource and has helped in so many ways.

She did get back to school today, and seems to be interacting with us here

at home. She does show a very low tolerance for coping with noise and

changes that happen to quickly. We are seeing slight improvements with the

other issues after her two day crash. I appreciate all the support and kind

thoughts, Thanks.

Amy
