Guest guest
Hi everyone. I posted over a month ago that my son was finally getting better. I guess I spoke too soon. We were so relieved. But, within a few days after posting he started to get worse again. The closer Christmas got, the worse his ocd got. I thought it was just the excitment of Christmas doing it but now almost a month later it hasn't gotten any better. Infact these last 4 days have been even worse. He has come home early from school every day this week. Today he only made it to 10:30. He's been having major anxiety attacks at school. He really hates coming home ( finds it very embarrassing). But he can't handle staying at school. I just don't know what to do. We really thought that the new medication was starting to work for him but now I'm wondering if that short period of relief would have naturally happened anyway. He also told me that his compulsions are getting alot harder to resist. We only got him to the target dosage of anafranil at Christmas so I know we should probably give it more time to see exactly how muct it's going to help. He's starting to feel hopeless about it again.
Guest guest
I am sorry for your troubles. I don't know enough about anafranil to comment on the length of time it takes for it to " kick in " . What does your doctor say? It would seem to me that there would be something more left to do. I know how you fell though - you just want to be able to fix it right away. It's hard to see your child suffer. My thoughts are with you. Bonnie > > Hi everyone.
