Guest guest
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Karac's autism was caused by thimerosal. Pat K Fw: [MercuryFreeland] FW: No One's Paying Attention...But The Endless Stream of Studies Linking Thimerosal (Mercury) with Autism Continues No One's Paying Attention...But The Endless Stream of Studies Linking Thimerosal (Mercury) with Autism Continues Dear Everyone, In yet another study by more well-established and well-respected researchers directly links Thimerosal (mercury) exposure with autism in yet another model system. This new study continues to build upon previous model systems linking Thimerosal (mercury) with brain pathology found in subjects diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder. The new study, " Intermingled Modulatory and Neurotoxic Effects of Thimerosal and Meruric Ions on Electrophysiological Responses to GABA and NMDA in Hippocampal Neurons " was published in the peer-reviewed Journal of Physiology and Pharmacology by investigators from the Wroclaw Medical University, Wroclaw, Poland, the Marie Curie Chairs Programme at the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology of the Nervous System, Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology, Warsaw, Poland, and the Department of Biology and Environmental Science, University of Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski, Warsaw, Poland funded by grants from the European Commission, the Foundation for Polish Science, and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Poland. Please, find a copy of the study attached to this email saved as Modulatory-Neurotoxic Effects of Thimerosal on GABA & NMDA in Hippocampal Neurons1.pdf in Adobe Acrobat Format. This new study described [emphasis added], " Thimerosal (THIM), an organomercurial containing approximately 49% of mercury by weight, has been added for decades to medicinal products, including pediatric vaccines, without being sufficiently tested for its safety. This is surprising in view of the fact that all mercurials are highly toxic, particularly to developing organisms. In the past decade concerns emerged about the possibility that THIM from vaccines might contribute to certain neurodevelopmental disorders in children...Unfortunately, it is still added to pediatric vaccines in less developed countries, including Poland, potentially damaging the health of children. " These investigators then reported [emphasis added], " THIM is metabolized in the body to ethyl mercury (EtHg) and subsequently to inorganic mercury forms, which accumulate in tissues of vital organs, including the brain...the existing data indicate that in pharmacodynamics and toxicity THIM/EtHg does not differ significantly from methyl mercury (MeHg)... " These investigators stated [emphasis added], " Many neurotoxic effects of thimerosal have been described, but its interaction with principal excitatory and inhibitory neurotransmiter systems is not known. We examined, using electrophysiological recordings, thimerosal effects on GABA and NMDA-evoked currents in cultured hippocampal neurons. After brief (3 to 10 min) exposure to thimerosal at concentrations up to 100 ìM, there was no significant effect on GABA or NMDA-evoked currents. However, following exposure for 60-90 min to 1 or 10 ìM thimerosal, there was a significant decrease in NMDA-induced currents (p<0.05) and GABAergic currents (p<0.05). Thimerosal was also neurotoxic, damaging a significant proportion of neurons after 60-90 min exposure; recordings were always conducted in the healthiest looking neurons. " These investigators concluded [emphasis added], " The results reveal complex interactions of thimerosal and mercuric ions with the GABAA and NMDA receptors...thimerosal works slowly, reducing both NMDA and GABA responses. The neurotoxic effects of both mercurials are interwoven with their modulatory actions on GABAA and NMDA receptors, which most likely involve binding to these macromolecules. Guest guest
We thought Karac was brilliant. He was singing the ABC song and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and could read and count the numbers until 20 before he was two years old. After the shot he lost language and eye contact; he would not respond to his name. I did ABA with him and he regained some until he started to school. He has made no progress since and has lost some. He is 18 and I think a tetanus shot that he had when he was about 8 caused a regression. He is in the 12 grade now and finally has a teacher who realizes that he can learn. Guest guest
Good Morning Everyone! I am usually a silent observer of the group...I take to heart everyone's trials and triumphs and ask God what it all means. This strange thing...this Autism...in all its tragic, miraculous, amazing, hurtful, inspiring forms. What journey is this that some of us have been chosen to take? I ask for Grace to accept the answers to these questions as they unfold. Our Josiah is 3 and 8 mos. now. His ABA is working beautifully with him and he is due for his year re-evaluation on March 2. I have often wondered about the source of his Autisms and have concluded that he was born so. I do believe that in MANY cases, and perhapse his as well, too many or the wrong vaccines can exacerbate autistic symptoms and behaviors. I do think they may release predispositions that are already genetically there. The singular cause...perhaps not. But a very potential factor in some cases. What are your thoughts? P. Guest guest
and others I am usually silent on this debate had it so many times in my head it hurts. I totally agree with , now that I look back at and his birth. He never wanted to be held unless it was skin to skin and he would scream unmercifully almost all day. We did find that he had Gastro problems couldnt' digest my breast milk, although the screaming did not stop when he was on formula. He never crawled - well maybe a week and then he was crusing at 6 months of age and walking at 7 - I truly believe he wanted to get away from me and it was not a game he did not want to be touched, lightly or with pressure if anything it would be with deep deep pressure. I gave him the shots on time until he was diagnosed at 20 mnths with PDD/NOS. He no longer gets most vaccines - had to vaccinate with tetanus for Boy Scouts which my son adores but other than that nothing. He is now a bright brillant boy who is being a teen and no longer wants me around - but he has a side of empathy that I never new an Autie can have. Yes I believe the vaccines did something, what I don't know, my child never really talked, never grunted, never pointed just wanted to be by himself. We got him in my own form of ABA therapy everyday from someone OT, PT, ST, DT, nothing more than an hour a day - he couldn't take more - make that I couldn't take more of the crying and the screaming. But he is one of the lucky ones once we got the Verbal Apraxia going the right direction he became over verbal and now uses it as a stim. I wished he would talk and now he does. So that is just my 2 cents yes vaccines did something to my son what I don't know - but he did have it at birth you can just go back over his life until the 20 months until he was diagnosed and see all the markers. Autism sucks and it will continue to suck until we find a cure or something. Would I take it away from my son - not at this point, because it is who he is. It is not a cancer that is killing him so I don't fight it anymore I just work with it and make him work as hard as he can in school and in therapy and we just live day by day. Love to all of you who are struggling. This new study continues to build upon previous modelsystemslinking Thimerosal (mercury) with brain pathology found in subjectsdiagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder. The new study, "Intermingled Modulatory and Neurotoxic Effects ofThimerosaland Meruric Ions on Electrophysiological Responses to GABA and NMDA inHippocampal Neurons" was published in the peer-reviewed Journal ofPhysiology and Pharmacology by investigators from the Wroclaw MedicalUniversity, Wroclaw, Poland, the Marie Curie Chairs Programme at theDepartment of Pharmacology and Physiology of the Nervous System,Instituteof Psychiatry and Neurology, Warsaw, Poland, and the Department ofBiologyand Environmental Science, University of Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski,Warsaw,Poland funded by grants from the European Commission, the FoundationforPolish Science, and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education ofPoland. Please, find a copy of the study attached to this email saved asModulatory-Neurotoxic Effects of Thimerosal on GABA & NMDA inHippocampalNeurons1.pdf in Adobe Acrobat Format. This new study described [emphasis added], "Thimerosal (THIM), anorganomercurial containing approximately 49% of mercury by weight, hasbeenadded for decades to medicinal products, including pediatric vaccines, without being sufficiently tested for its safety. This is surprising inviewof the fact that all mercurials are highly toxic, particularly todevelopingorganisms. In the past decade concerns emerged about the possibilitythatTHIM from vaccines might contribute to certain neurodevelopmentaldisordersin children...Unfortunately, it is still added to pediatric vaccines inlessdeveloped countries, including Poland, potentially damaging the healthofchildren."These investigators then reported [emphasis added], "THIM ismetabolized inthe body to ethyl mercury (EtHg) and subsequently to inorganic mercuryforms, which accumulate in tissues of vital organs, including thebrain...the existing data indicate that in pharmacodynamics andtoxicityTHIM/EtHg does not differ significantly from methyl mercury (MeHg)..."These investigators stated [emphasis added], "Many neurotoxic effectsofthimerosal have been described, but its interaction with principalexcitatory and inhibitory neurotransmiter systems is not known. Weexamined, using electrophysiological recordings, thimerosal effects on GABA andNMDA-evoked currents in cultured hippocampal neurons. After brief (3 to10min) exposure to thimerosal at concentrations up to 100 ìM, there wasnosignificant effect on GABA or NMDA-evoked currents. However, followingexposure for 60-90 min to 1 or 10 ìM thimerosal, there was asignificantdecrease in NMDA-induced currents (p<0.05) and GABAergic currents(p<0.05).Thimerosal was also neurotoxic, damaging a significant proportion ofneuronsafter 60-90 min exposure; recordings were always conducted in thehealthiestlooking neurons."These investigators concluded [emphasis added], "The results revealcomplexinteractions of thimerosal and mercuric ions with the GABAA and NMDAreceptors...thimerosal works slowly, reducing both NMDA and GABAresponses. The neurotoxic effects of both mercurials are interwoven with theirmodulatory actions on GABAA and NMDA receptors, which most likelyinvolvebinding to these macromolecules."Sincerely, Geier
Guest guest
to show you the difference.....JJ loved to be touched!!!!!! He played good with his toys and at his 18 month check-up he was given his shots and over the next 6 months you could see the change in him and then i got the "hot shot list" which showed the bad lot numbers J had. Now at 23 life is hard for him. Sheron- be glad that your son can understand boy scouts and can do well in school. J cannot funtion that high. he has to go to a day program while I work. Guest guest
It was nice when they were growing up. Robbie is presently in a foster home. We bring him home every two weeks. The boys do not really play with each other much but I am glad that they are close in age. Guest guest
Karac has a sister that is 4 years older than he is. She loves him and is good to him, but I thought it would have been nice if he had an older brother. I have a young male special needs teacher who comes on the weekends and acts as teacher and friend. They ride bikes, shoot baskets and eat out together. Does on go to school? Are you able to work?
