today is a horrible day. Lots of crying. Grandma was here so there were other problems with that. Like when I made julianne do a time out. or when julianne would argue and grandma would just roll her eyes at julianne like she is just being difficult right now. She doesn't get it at all. I am no longer going to do respite like I wanted to this summer. I can not leave julianne for that long. I am not able to leave because she melts down over so many things these days and I am the only one who knows what she is saying when she screams her words. Usually she can not have what she is asking for and she cannot get over it either so she just freaks out. She has already hit me 3 times today. I just put her in a time out but I do not think it really works on her. I still need her to have a punishment. She is becoming a very mean child. She doesn't care at all. I tell her she hurt me and she says more hurting mommy and attacks me. She was slapping herself today and I said don't do that you will hurt yourself and she said yes more hurting myself. She is so weird. I am so exhausted from her being so physco. She cries at EVERYTHING. If I say we are staying home she cries or if I say we are going out she cries. Her first response to anything is crying. She won't play she yells at me to go away. Brad went to work for a half day today. He is moody too. It is really draining to spend so much time keeping a child safe and entertained constantly and have her be so ungrateful and rude back. People always tell me she loves me and she likes me and all that crap but if you ask her she will tell you the truth. She really doesn't like me at all. I tell her that is her choice and she can not like things if she wants. We did not even close to expect all the heartache we are having when we chose to have a baby.

Hello, I was just wanting some feedback on a situation. What would anyone here think about or do if their 12 year old non-verbal child with Autism came home from school with a gaping 6 inch hole all along the crotch area? School is saying nothing nor the superintendent. There has been no explanation for this happeneing and there is no logical explanation for it at all. Everyone I know has racked their brains. His pants were perfect when he went to school. Just wondered what anyone else outside of our situation would think about this.

Thanks.

, I'm sorry you are having such a rough time. My three year old son pinches

and grits his teeth at me all the time, when he is not eating his toys and

books. I know how frustrated you feel. Please let me know if anything can help.

We tried that in the past. It just makes it worse. She wants me. She hurts herself a lot too. She isn't like this constantly but she has had about 20 tantrums today. It is very tiring.

she used to grind her teeth at me too but now they are so short I don't think she can. I just hope the weather gets nice so we can be outside a little more. I think being in the house a lot makes us grumpy. She has great toys and I play with her soemtimes and ask her to play alone other times. She really has a nice life but she is so damn ungrateful it drives me nuts. I know she is little but some of her peers are so loving to their parents. We have never had that. The only time she is really happy is when we are buying her new toys. I get really tired of her picking on me.

She dos have an OT. The only time she lets me touch her is when I pick her up out of her eating chair and carry her back to the living room. She recently started squeezing my neck. I think she is trying to hug. I tell her thank you for the nice julianne hugs.

No we don't smoke or wear any smells. She really just struggles with touch. I do too so I understand. Sometimes we do body tickles. they are very tiny tickles on her arms and legs and she thinks that is lovely. When she is close to me I try to sneak those in. I think touch is real important so we keep trying. We pick her up and throw her on the couch. We also give big bear hugs that she allows. It is just hard to watch other children sometimes. And when she is so mean to me I don't have it in me to try to give little tickles. She ate her dinner real well tonight and she seems a little calmer right now. Every day is a new one. I just am panicking about her future a little. I do not think she will be able to live alone. She can barely walk. There are many many things

she is having trouble with. We think she has atypical rett syndrome. She has ALL of the symptoms.

Have you taken her to a psychiatrist/neurolog/developmental pediatrician for formal diagnosis? We have gone through similar thing in the last 6 months.  By any means I am not an expert, but we have learned a lot because of this from our DD's psychiatrist, psychologist, pediatrician etc. (we have read so many books related to Asperger's, Autism, even Child Bipolar and other psychiatry-related books even the DSM-IV manual used by american psychiatrist.  We've also read books written by Temple Grandin [the living autistic person who becomes very popular in US]).

From what I read, because your daughter gets an OT and barely talks, she is not an aspie, but likely an autistic child. On Sun, May 9, 2010 at 2:00 PM, Christiansen <cathychristiansen84@...> wrote:

,

Big big hugs. With all the huge sensory issues what is your OT doing to try and

integrate them? It sounds like your little girl has come so far.

We couldn't afford OT due to an autism exclusion in our insurance policy. We

went for 4 weeks. I told the OT I needed to learn everything we could on SPD and

how to help meet my son's needs.

We have come along way in a few months, but he is a proprioreceptive seeker so

it is easy to fulfill those needs with a sensory diet.

sending good vibes to all of you,

Amy

I suggest NAET to get rid of food allergies. It has helped my daughter so much with irritability.http://www.drchauallergyclinic.com/It is $140 for the first visit & $80 for every other visit or$80 to get rid of an allergy. MOst of us have at least 20 allergies thatwe don't know about.I wish you the best. My daughter has NVD and is now six. She doesn't say no as nearly as she used to, if that helps.Naet is very easy and non-invasive.AliOn May 9, 2010, at 8:16 PM, Christiansen wrote:She used to not talk but now she talks above her age and she reads at a 10 year old level and she is almost 4 years. Kate, I know EXACTLY what you mean. There are days when I know that if I hear

one more " normal " kid thing I will scream !!! Then again ,I went through a stage

a while back where I would ask people with normal kids around my boys' ages how

things were going, what their kids were learning in school, what they liked to

play with , etc. As much as it hurt, I did it anyway, because it was my way of

imaginig what could have been...

I suggest you read the book, " Is This Your Child " , by Dr. Doris Rapp.

Also, check out this old video.

It

sounds to me like this might be helpful to you. Good Luck.
