My daughter started getting facial tics after moving up to 125mg of

zoloft. We are down to 87.5mg and she is taking seroquel as well. The

seroquel helps stop them a lot, but when it wears off we still see

some. Will this and when will they go away? The doctor wants us to

switch to prosac. Will that cause it too?

***** Once again this site is such a great learning opportunity!! My 13

y.o. was on 200 mg. of Zoloft and 300 mg. seroquel about a year ago and had

horrible physical and vocal ticcing, but I never knew the connection. They had

added clonedine to help the tics. The zoloft was pooping out so we slowly

switched to prozac, and also reduced the seroquel. Her tics were very greatly

reduced so we no longer needed the clonedine, but I hadn't made the

connection!! So yes, switching to prozac was a good thing in regards to

ticcing.

Here I thought it might have been the seroquel causing the tics. Thanks for

enlightening me. She is now back on 100 mg. seroquel, with very occasional

ticcing. FYI, for KAtie, the prozac (40 mg.) worked well for about 9 mos.,

but

she started to get way too hyper at bedtime, and was saying innapropriate

things. We switched to Luvox in September and are doing well. My 10 y.o. is

still doing well on a low dose (20 mg.) of prozac.
