While sitting on my porch having my smoke I have watched 2 boys walk to school. The older boy is 17 and the younger is around 7 or 8, older brother walking younger brother to school. It has really impressed me how the older one takes care of the younger one, since older boys don't usually act this way. I drive everyday to pick up and go in the direction that the boys walk so one day I asked them if they would like a ride. They accepted and I drove them home. I thought about it later and was hoping their parents didn't get upset. When I saw them the next day I asked them and they said that their Mom thought it was nice. To make a long story short, I have been driving these boy's (and their Mom on occasion) home for over a month now. Yesterday they gave me a Thank you card for driving them and a Birthday card. Inside the card was a quote that their Grandma used to say. " You're not old until you're dead " . The older boy said that on the day she died she said " now I'm old " I really love that saying and am going to use it myself. I have finally found a job again after looking for months, actually got rehired from the company that downsized me, since it's coming up on Tax time again and I start on Monday. I feel so bad that I won't be able to give them a ride any longer, they are such nice boys. I just wanted to share that little quote. > > Happy birthday to you too, . I plan to get the book. and I haven't gone out to a movie in years; he has been ordering our movies from Net flick. My young granddaughter wanted me to go out with her for my birthday. I would LOVE to go to the movies BUT I never have any free time to do it. J is at awakeings from 9-3 and I work from 9:30 to 2:30 and then go pick J up and I have no respite now since he hit 21. Guest guest Posted December 7, 2009 Report Share Posted December 7, 2009 Pat K...I do some -- nothing formal -- I have given it a break - will revisit after the first of the year...for now we are finally blessed with a speech therapist who does lots of ABA kind of stuff with him...he goes to her three days per week...as well as our OT three days per week....I work with him non-stop but as far as the 'fromal' part of ABA....not right now. We all needed a break. Karac was very good yesterday. I will miss him, but I'll have him tomorrow and the entire Christmas break.
