Guest guest
I know these are the things we should never speak of. we should act like it will all get better and be great someday even if it won't but I have to say that I have had it with my daughter. she is 3 and horibble these days. I try different things all the time to help and she seems to be getting worse. She is mean! she has ocd behaviors and argues like crazy. I don't mean usual 3 year old arguing either. I will hand her a toy and say it is a cat and she will scream at me that it is a dog and lose her freking mind until I agree with her. I am at the end of my rope with her. She hits me constantly and yells at me all the time. I don't even like talking to her now because anything at all that I say she will scream at me the opposite just to be a brat. I know she has autism and I simply do not care anymore. My husband is like oh poor her she can't help it so be nice to her. Bull she is nice to him but not me. so she can help it. and i don't care even if she can't help it and doesn't understand I DO. I understand that when she screams and hits it destroys my whole existence. it is so awful to be working so hard with someone everyday and have them be so wicked. I don't have anyone around that can relate. I share stories of hoe violent she is and they are like oo that sounds hard. too bad for you. I know dozens of children with many many diagnosis and they are kind and tantrum sometimes but are nice sometimes too. my child is selfish and doesn't have any empathy and i know that is her disorder but not all of them are like that. I have made a big mommy choice. I can't leave or give her up because I want to be a good mom and take care of her. But I will not be abused on her terms anymore. I am going to set her up with things she loves to do in safe rooms and I will clean or do laundry or a number of things I need to do. I will play with her and IF she hits me I am leaving. I have tried tons of disapline and she doesn't understand and it doesn't work with her she just rages more. I have tried rewarding her for being good too all day long and she doesn't care. she just doesn't care about anything. I am done bonding with her. Guest guest
I too have had my fill! This morning I almost flipped my wig! My 7yr old son - whom I dearly love - was aggressive and violent and awful! Awful! Guest guest
are you still with the dad? I am just going to start emotionally detaching myself then I won't have to be sad every time she is horrible it will not matter to me anymore. I was married to a man 7 years ago who was very abusive towards me for a year and I will never be the same from it. I don't feel like I deserve this or should have to put up with it. Guest guest
I am no longer married to my son's father. It is Joe (my son) and I all day everyday. Joe can be a love but there are a few times every day, that Joe is a horrible. mean and awful person - he wills cream " Get out mom " " Go away mom " and then hit and bite and scream bloody murder. Last night I sobbed. I was giving my boy a bath (already a nightmare) and he bit my back - hard! I screamed and smacked his ass! I was disgusted by us both. This morning started out with Joe pinching me - Pinching me! " No school " and teh morning deteriorated from there... I try not to give into the emotional blackmail - if Joe does not get what he wants, he flips into a total monster but sometimes I do..... Guest guest
we give melitonin too. It does help a lot. She used to stay awake practically all night some nights but now she is sleeping the night through every night. she still cries for me to come to her once or twice a night and when I get there she is almost back asleep. she won't let me touch her ever but when she is sleepy I can sometimes rub her back just a tiny bit and she starts to snore. then i run back to my bed and sleep. I am so sleep deprived. I think that makes me have a hrder time with the mean child when I am sleepy. She began giving him Apple Pectin and she saw much improvement within a couple of weeks. Evidently Apple Pectin lowers testosterone, softening the behaviors. My son is also 18 and has been Extremely ACTIVE, no sleep, always running, jumping, etc. I have been giving him Apple Pectin along with cutting way back on sugar, carbs and really watching out for MSG, which is an excitotoxin. ..now hw has been sleeping from 12 - 16 hours a day compared to 12- 16 hrs/wk. He is also very calm, quiet and more responsive. Good luck and God bless you...It is TOUGH! Hang in there... Guest guest
Hi,Your days remind me of my own. My DD just turned 4 and she screams at everything and hits, kicks and bites me. Recently I took an online class for behavioral basics for autism and it really helped. I don' know if you are using a particular intervention but I can tell you what is helping us. When she starts her screaming I tell her in my flattest most emotionless voice that I have to put in my earplugs until she is finished. Then I put them in ( I have earplugs on a cord that I wear around my neck). Usually this is when she attacks me and I use a modified crisis intervention hold where I hold her arms behind her back just above the elbows (this way she can't bite me either). I say calmly that I will let her go when she is finished with her tantrum. The great thing about this is that my ears are not subjected to the screams which usually trigger my anxiety and fear. I stay calm (most of the time now) and she ends things very quickly because she is not getting the emotional intensity that she is looking for. When I started this the tantrums got much worse at first but they quickly dropped from about 20 a day to 3-5 a day and from 20minutes-hour to about 5 minutes. She hates for me to wear the earplugs so it has allowed me to start negotiating with her - if she takes deep breaths, asks God to help her have control and calms down then I won't put them in. About 50% of the time she can calm herself down now. I also pair this with giving her emotional intensity for positive things. For example: when she can't get her toy to work and she doesn't tantrum, I praise her with a cheerleader's intensity and tickle her or roughhouse with her (she loves intense activity). I also offer intense activity as a reward. Example: She refuses to put her shoes on so I tell her that she can have crash landings (be thrown on to the waterbed) if she lets me put them on. I keep a list of positive reinforcers handy to help me think of something. I don't know if any of this will be helpful to you but I will be praying for you. I know that I deal with a form of Post Traumatic Stress everyday from all the abuse I have endured from my daughter but things are finally improving. I don't have access to therapy (no insurance) but I have been going to a Christian 12 step program to help me with my stress. If you are interested in that please email me privately and maybe you can find one in your area.
