Guest guest
-you might want to consider a trial of pineal and/or pituitary gland extract-these are a couple of glands known to be damaged by mercury and/or inflammation. Also, a product called congaplex from standard process, which stimulates the thymus and adrenal glands. It is NOT gf, as it contains oat flour, but it helps enormously:) [ ] B. - Failure to thrive >, > Thanks so much for your post earlier - You answered many >questions that have been eating at me for about >two years now. Guest guest
Dear , Gosh!, my daughter will be 8 the end of December and weighs 40 pounds. My son, growing up, was always lean and in the lower percentile on the growth charts, but he's 18 now and is 5'9 " tall and well built. I just figured my daughter was on the same growth track. I'm only 5'0 " , too (well, 4'11 " but who's counting?!) and 90 pounds so I wasn't surprised that my daughter's small, too . . . even though her daddy is 6'3 " and 189 pounds. You say your doctor decided there was a growth deficiency by looking at your son's hand? There was no hormonal reason for his concern? It's all very interesting . . . Guest guest
Dear , Wow! Your daughter really is small, I guess she is short too, Hunter's weight is not near as bad as his height, he is soooo short. The doc said that his weight was not bad for his hieght, he is well proportioned, he is just short. I know this may sound crazy to some, but I really wouldn't mind him being short if he were a girl, it has never bothered me but it is different for a boy. Yes, the doctor did some tests to look at the precursers to growth hormones and they were borderline low. The next step would be some kind of 8 hour test. We haven't seen the doc in 6 months because of reasons listed previuosly and because we have had another baby since then. I am going to make another appointment and check into everything again. Thanks! --- In egroups, " lisa edmond " <sjcsydney@h...> wrote: > Dear , > Gosh!, my daughter will be 8 the end of December and weighs 40 pounds. > My son, growing up, was always lean and in the lower percentile on the > growth charts, but he's 18 now and is 5'9 " tall and well built. Guest guest
, My son is 4 1/2 years old and weighs 32 pounds. What you are saying is so similar to our situation. My son has been wearing some of the same clothes he wore two years ago. He grew very well until he regressed. I, too, am wondering about a mercury issue. His Hair Analysis shows a scattered pattern. I'm only listing out of range items. Some seem minimally high, others, way off. mercury 3.2 (normal range (nr) 0-3) High arsenic 0.39 (nr<0.08) High Bismuth 0.19 (nr<0.13) High lead 1.2 (nr<1) High titanium 3.7 (nr<1) High In his elements, zinc 83 (nr 100-190) Low chromium 0.23 (nr 0.26-0.5) Low selenium 0.85 (nr 0.95-1.7) Low *** strontium 0.13 (nr 0.16-1) Low barium 0.15 (nr 0.16-0.8) Low germanium 0.015 (nr 0.045-0.065) Low sodium 200 (nr 12-90) High *** potassium 150 (nr 12-40) High *** sulfur 54400 (nr 45500-53000) High rubidium 0.19 (nr 0.016-0.18) High zirconium 1.3 (nr 0.04-1) High Do these figures indicate possible mercury poisoning? Could this explain is growth pattern? OR [ ] B. - Failure to thrive > , > Thanks so much for your post earlier - You answered many > questions that have been eating at me for about > two years now. Guest guest
, We are looking into it. Where I live, it is a little difficult, but not impossible. We have a pediatric visit at the beginning of December and are bring in the info. I am hoping to pass along Amy Holmes' and Jane El Dahr's Specs. Anyone with their specs and phones numbers, could they please forward them to me? , how did chelation work with your son? Guest guest
Barb, My son's the one with the mercury in the hair. He has no filling, though with all the teeth grinding he has been doing lately, I wonder what we are headed for. His shampoo was an extremely mild, natural baby shampoo. Would you happen to know what else could have affected his hair sample? Guest guest
Wow, I'm really not the scientist here. All I can share with you is what others have shared before. From what they tell me, mercury loves fat and hates water. If we take in mercury it stays in the bloodstream for just a short time, and then moves to the fatty area ASAP. (This info. comes from Dr. Amy.) Gosh, are you sure your son has not been exposed recently? No broken thermometers? Have you been anywhere recently where thermometers could have been broken? (Like a doc's office?) I know Andy talked about people vaccumming the area after spilling mercury, and how it gassed off for quite a while after that! Guest guest
If I were you, I'd look at all the possible exposures to mercury. Some people have been exposed through malathion spraying of orchards. Some have houses built on land that used to be orchards. Some have been exposed through the gas meter leaking in an old house. Has he had any vaccinations recently (2-3 months) that have thimerosol in them? If you live in the East, they have recently reported that mercury is in the rain. What about your water supply? I would check everything out thoroughly, and maybe repeat the hair test, just to be sure. Barb Re: [ ] Re: B. - Failure to thrive >Barb, >My son's the one with the mercury in the hair. Guest guest
-I'm behind on messages, if this has been said, I'm sorry. It is my understanding that for it to show in the blood, has to be within 48 hrs. or so of an exposure. Test the house. Best suggestion. The health dept. here at least, won't test the house " free " unless it shows in the blood and is at least a 10......UGHHHHHHHH.... You can get a home lead test to check areas. An " envriomental inspector " just told my daughter that they are reliable if they turn pink right away, as a good indicator. They are about $10 and have 10 test strips in each one. That would " cheaply " give you an idea if " home is where the trouble is " . I hope this helps. Note:suggested to test close to the house (outside) and floor, baseboards and windowsills for sure. Found at some paint stores, hardware and health stores. I think this is something we ALL should check. Are we detoxing and just adding back everyday?? Guest guest
Thanks Barb and Ann, My understanding is that the half-life of mercury in the blood is around 45 days. Someone please tell me if I'm wrong. My son doesn't have any fillings. No mercury thermometers around here, I use the digital kind. . No fish eaten (my son hates it, fortunately). I was wondering if there's any possibility of pool chemicals being involved (seems unlikely), any pool owners know about this? My son has had a few hydrotherapy sessions. The other thing I will check out is any spraying in the vicinity of pesticides and fertilizers. I am stumped. I have wondered per a post I saw recently whether its possible that he has eaten something which has chelated the mercury out into the blood (we have not yet started chelation treatment, I am on my third hospital trying to get this organised and so far they don't want to know). Guest guest
Some have houses built on land that used to be orchards. That is where we live, a place used to be a peach orchard. Where the mercury would be ? In the spray? And, how do we get it now? We do eat a little bit of home grown peach grown in our backyard.... What a dangerous world. mt
Guest guest
From what I understand, a lot of orchards are sprayed with malathion which contain mercury salts. I believe there's a Kathy on this list who was poisoned that way. Also someone else who's child was showing high levels of mercury realized there home was built on land that used to be an orchard. I suppose it depends on if it's commercial or private? Guest guest
Barb, Bernie, Anybody!! We also live on land that used to be an orange orchard but was converted to houses back in the 70's. My daughter's hair mercury was high. Could there be mercury in the soil even now that might vaporize during hot weather (we're in Southern California) and affect us? How would we find this out???? Guest guest
Dear , As with so many treatments with our child, we investigate, ask questions and evaluate what is right for our child. Basically, GH treatment is physisolligical (so for the spelling) hormone replacement. This means he will get a " normal " dosage based upon weight and as he grows, his dosage will increase. Your body has GH receptors in every organ, tissue, gland, muscle and even in the brain. GH helps with the absorption of protein, fats and carbohydrates. Fat people become skinny on GH. Old people become young. The immune system improve. Digestion improves. A low tone or hypotone person gets muscle tone in two weeks. For Jordan, we did it to promote myelination of the brain and the nervous system. It releases nerve growth factors so nerves can grow and branch. Jordan has Down Syndrome, but went autistic from vaccines. Jordan is the best looking, best acting DS child you will ever meet. This evening he was out riding his scooter and playing football with the other boys in the neighborhood. GH is really an easy yes decision. Several DS/autistic children are on GH and co-therapies have only augmented each other. Guest guest
Dear , I know nothing about this therapy so pardon my ignorance! Is the child tested to see if there's a deficiency of GH first? How often and for how long is it administered? Would it in any way interfere with the natural development/growth process? How did you learn about it/how can I learn more about it?
