Guest guest
--Hi! I rarely post, too, but had to jump in here. My 3 boys are all IgA def, and i'm homeschooling all of them this year--my oldest is in 4th grade, middle in 3rd, and little guy in K. So, it's our 5th year, and i , too , love this lifestyle. My husband's work requires some travelling,a nd we just pack up the books and come along! We made this decision for a lot of reasons--our state ranks 48th academically, and is teaching the 10% gay principle in lower elementary grades. This sealed it for us, but it's because i love my kids and i want the joy of seeing them learn. We are certain God has called us in this, and it was just confirmed when all of this medical stuff came up. My dr. told me if we weren't already hs'ing, he'd tell us too, because the risks for my oldest were just too high. (We have found if they spend more than a day with a lot of other kids, they all get sick, so he was right.) In fact, the medical reason was what silenced my mil's criticism of our decision to homeschool, so we were thankful for that aspect of it!! We go thru a public charter, we will probably eventually go independent. We dont' take sick days, just lighter days, the kids arent' really even aware of it. It makes sickness so much easier to deal with , it doesnt' usually disrupt our days. Please feel free to em me with any other questions. I love to share about all this! Warmly, Maurita, mom to Wesley, , , all 4 of us IgA def, still waiting on those darling sisters from Haiti.... All in God's time...
