Surely they don't need a big doctor to forbid supplements in school they

can just say they won't give them?

The truth and this my opinion is that the most of the therapy program are they in the majority done-created by parents with children on the spectrum and parents research far more than professionals and then they come and say that parents do not know what they are talking about convenient but not true it is easy to dismiss that to recognise error it takes a really humble soul to say that is wrong and change for the better even when the things go really wrong they are never wrong .....

Not Mandi, but Webster Stratton is a an approach to developing parenting skills

with groups of parents, the parents attend not the children (although some

places offer simultaneous Dinosaur School groups, which link in as the kids

version). Easier if you have kids without special needs. Some aspects of it,

such as its reliance on the child being responsive to positive attention from

parents can be a HUGE stumbling block for a lot of parents of kids with ASD.

Personally I would not want to be the only such parent in a group of parents

with kids without similar challenges. Sue

Thanks , I looked at their website and could only find two of their papers

contained a reference to autsim. One study involved 450 families but this only

included 9 children with autism. They do not say whether these were low or

high-functioning but they do mention Asperger's or high functioning autism in

one or 2 places. They discuss teaching the children to recognise emotions then

the teaching explores various situations eg making a phone call using a dolls'

house. They say the groups working with children with autism should have typical

peers but not children with very disruptive/noisy behaaviours. There is ZERO

mention of parental training where the children have autism.

Margaret

Very thin experience, I think. I bet there's mo experience in the UK.
