What is wedging?

I noticed that one of 's doctors noted in 2 of his reports " wedging at the

apex of the curve " . Could someone explain what " wedging " means?

Wedging usually means there is a vertebrae that is wedge shaped. That can result from an extra vert that didn't fully form or one that is suppose to be there that didn't fully form. I would think that would mean has a "hemi-vertebrae" somewhere in her curve and it also would mean that she has congenital scoliosis, not idiopathic.

My daughter had a hemi between T8 and T9. Her story is on the ISOP web page. Let me know if you need any other info.
