[ ] Re:Holmes/Cave DMSA dosage ,I'm looking forward to hearing more about Orlando and particularly as it relates to chelation protocols. A couple questions that came to mind when I read your post are 1.)Is the recommendation that El-Dahr addressed a higher dose of DMSA or a lower dose of LA or both? For example I now give 100mg DMSA/50mg LA sustained release q eight hours. So is the idea to increase the DMSA to say 200 mg (or whatever) or to lower the La to 25mg or less? See what I mean?2.) What's the rational for giving a higher ratio of DMSA to LA?Thanks for any information you can forward on this. Hope you enjoyed the weekend and learned a lot.Kathy
Guest guest
and all, We are going to start today on dmsa. Our doctor is aware of the Holmes protocol. He is still recommending it 3 times a day. He feels it is unnecessary to wake him up, so it will be about 6/7 hours apart. So it sounds alot like the new protocol Amy is recommending. We are going to start with 100 mg 3 x per day of Captomer. We will run the urine test. And we will add the ALA after a while. Guest guest
I'm STUNNED! This is far from what was sent to our doctor! Did she say on what basis she has changed her protocol? By 3 times a day does she mean with meals or to divide the 24hour day in thirds? Is there any way of determining a "sensitive kid" without loading a higher dose on them and seeing if they freak out? Will this revised information be sent to all of the doctors who have been sent her former protocol? SO many questions! Thank you VERY much, for posing this!!!! We started with 250 mg twice a day for 20 days. It brought enormous results but also alot of stress on his body. When we switched to the 3 on/11 off and lowered the dosage, he did much better. I think it is wise to start all kids on lower dosages and then gradually build up to their tolerance. That way, you don't overwhelm a kid's system if they're very toxic or sensative. You don't want to just stay at a very low dosage the entire time if that's not pulling the metals well but the first few rounds of low dosage makes sense. Now that we're moving back to DMSA, we're trying a round of 50 mg every four hours under the theory that gently, yet constantly releasing the metals could allow his elimination systems to be more efficient in what they remove rather than being bombarded with big releases in two cycles. We're also doing the sauna protocol once a day. We'll see how that does. I plan to gradually bump up the dosage as he tolerates it. Guest guest
, could you post this into the files? I don't think everybody got it and it would be nice to have it handy to review. thanks!
