Guest guest
Just back from J's annual review meeting( he is home ed, we get no help, but the lea have to tick their...) Lea's admin manager(! not even an education person...) ,and of course this lady from Connexions telling us about all these wonderful packages available post 16 at the local mainstream colleges and work placements!!!( thats great that there are opportunities for the more able sen children ... are these successful? and has anyone here got something in place for someone at the severe end of the spectrum ???? The few local children that i know are all at or going to go to residential placements. This post 16 package would only be available if the child is at a post 16 Lea placement. Is that true does home ed legally stop at 16 ,not 19? I had gone in feeling quite positive, J is learning ,( plus after 12 years had finally realised that they don't give a toss and didn't expect a thing) ,but now feeling sick and frightened about the future (guess this is always under the surface...) nina
