Guest guest
I am so sorry, all the oldtimers on this list who know me will tell you my inbox is frequently full, just can't keep up with all the issues the boys have and now this. I'll clear my inbox now so you could re-send if you wouldn't mind. thanks Vicky > > Hi Vicky - I have experience of living with someone with alzheimers, tried > mailing you off line but said your inbox was full?? Guest guest
Natasa, , anyone else knowledgeable- Is there a practitioner/clinic you would recommend, please, or a reasonably accesible book which would advise on biomed approaches to slowing down/reversing dementia? I remember ageing was originally Jaqueline McCandless' area of work. Margaret I am asking re someone who is in London (LB Southwark). > > > > > a while ago I posted a lot on things that could be helpful, I don¹t have it > > here but you may be able to find it through group library search... > > I remember silicium and herbs like vinpocetine, and minerals in general (home > > broth). will know more if she is around... > > > > Natasa > > > > > > > > Hi Vicky - I have experience of living with someone with alzheimers, tried > > mailing you off line but said your inbox was full?? Guest guest
My Mum had Alzheimers, she also had Pernicous Anaemia. I think that they are pretty certain now that there is a strong link with the Vitamin B12 deficiency. My Mother broke her hip and had a blood transfusion - afterwards her memory came back for a short while!! Although she was on B12 injections, I think that it was clear that they were no where near enough. There should be quite alot of info. on this somewhere. > > > > > > > > a while ago I posted a lot on things that could be helpful, I don¹t have it > > > here but you may be able to find it through group library search... > > > I remember silicium and herbs like vinpocetine, and minerals in general (home > > > broth). will know more if she is around... > > > > > > Natasa > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi Vicky - I have experience of living with someone with alzheimers, tried > > > mailing you off line but said your inbox was full?? Guest guest
I have read about a significant percentage of patients with dementia and early alzheimers improving with b12, but the doses they are talking about are quite high. There is a Dr. ph Chandy here in the UK who has been quite evangelical about b12, pushed it through the nhs etc. Google him, he has very grateful patients, a long list. Don't know whether he does hydroxy or methyl though. Worth contacting him. He is a NHS doctor and is sure to give you recommendations if you contact him. Guest guest
I wrote up a lot on Alzheimers complete with Pubmed links when I was researching on behalf of my father late 2008. I'll look for the posts sometime today as I need to refresh my memory myself. Yesterday I found some alarming connection to the heavy metal 'lead' also.
