I refused to allow the special school head to assess Edith (she would

have said how suitable her school would be). At Tribunal she said she

had never seen Edith but she was sure her school would be suitable. She

didn't say she was refused permission to assess. Perhaps they missed a

trick.

How do you know what the EP report said?

I bow to your greater expertise however. Your experience is much greater

than mine.

pre-tribunal right now and wanted to stop assessments for that purpose alone but

apparently it will be put on record that the parent refused assessment and

therefore hampered their efforts to help the child, doesn't look good on the

parent.

they had it done anyway unknown to me and then when the assessment highlighted

problems in the school they buried it, had I agreed the assessment it would have

been a damning piece of evidence as I would have presented it in our evidence.

formally assess your child without the knowledge or consent of parents - clearly

not good practice. DS is coming home saying he has been assessed (by NHS etc-

people he doesn't know) and that there are people observing him in lessons which

really bugs him. We are coming up to the Transition Review. Also could anyone

point me to a really good source of independent help for advice on post 16

provision in SE England.
