Guest guest
Hey , We live in Kansas City, MO and take our daughter there for her scoliosis treatment. She is 7 months old now and has been in a series of 3 casts since August of this year. Her cast off date is schedules for December 8th and then we are going directly to "Hanger" which is a near by office that does the brace moldings/fittings. I saw you mention that you cannot afford a brace. I am not sure your financial situation but Children Mercy offers GREAT financial assistance. We are middle class but we did not have the money to be paying hundreds of dollars a month for all Novellas visits and who knows how much the casts and OR rooms would have cost. We have insurance coverage but they then granted us 100% financial coverage there after. I was shocked and only applied on a whim because we usually get denied. I applied for all the care coverage and state help I could get and no one would help except children's mercy. It was the greatest thing after all the bad news we had been getting. However, we have not been through the bracing yet. Are doctors have not informed us of the the price. I am hoping since it is affiliated with Mercy we will still be covered? Eh- I had not thought about it until now. Let me know if I can help in any way! Novella gets her cast off a little before your Jan 13th appt so I can give you am update after we go through the bracing process if you are still planning on coming to KC. Best, , Novella's Mom Down from 46* to 15* in third cast (6 weeks each) from Children's Mercy in Kansas City, MO
