Guest guest
Hi Hannah The assessment is a two hour visit.. so an easy into Gatwick and out again in a day.. and taxi to and from centre easy to find. I don't know about NACD at all.. my experience with TST is that once the body can breathe properly,, oxygenate properly, the senses are able to settle and function more normally.. so the sensory issues sort themselves out.. there is often no need to add anything else to the pot.. I wonder whether we some times put the cart before the horse... spending a lot of money getting our children to achieve things.. when in fact the functioning of their body is not at a good enough point to actually take on this additional control.. and in doing so something else may have to give.- and Purely from a financial point of view- We may be spending a whole lot more money than is necessary to get higher functioning children in a greater period of time! We have spent £10s of thousands of pounds on our journey with our daughter... with little or no gains... I honestly believe that had we known about TST earlier.. I would not be on this group.. as dd's issues would have been sorted!- With the gains we are making.. I expect that in the next two years we will be able to say for the very first time that our daughter is fully functioning.. and seizure free. and most importantly DRUG FREE too.. and already she only needs one supplement a day... fish oils- remember though that our daughter was never immunized, so her problems are much milder than most... though she has complex epilepsy. Best wishes Tracey On Wed, Jan 27, 2010 at 9:05 PM, Hannah <kersten123@...> wrote: Thank you Tracey,Unfortunately, we can't come for the assessment now.Maybe in the summer… I've also recently discovered that NACD does distant consults. We've done a similar programme in Belgium for a year and it helped a lot. They can't help us anymore because they specialise in helping children with severe problems. It looks like NACD has more experience with different children. If we start the NACD program I don't know we'll have time for Scotson exercises. On the other hand this is something that we can start now (don't know though how long the application procedure takes) and I have a very strong feeling that it'll help to overcome my son's sensory problems and to learn the reflexes he's missing. Are there people doing NACD on this list?Hannah. > > >> >> > Dear Tracey and others,> >> > Lot's of people have very good experiences with the Scotson Technique.
