Guest guest
Yes they are, just watching the video, they are sprayed with polymer. Just googled polymer and can up with the following:- The coatings consist of alternating layers of silica nanoparticles, which are basically tiny particles of glass, and a polymer called polyallylamine hydrochloride.Still not convinced it is a safe alternative. Can anyone shed any light? x> Autism Treatment > From: Moroza-@...> Date: Tue, 26 Jan 2010 14:49:34 +0000> Subject: Re: Re: DRINKS BOTTLE> > Aren't they aluminium?> Sara> > the_gebhardts wrote:> >> > Hi, the best brand is SIGG, check out there website> > http://www.sigg.com/ <http://www.sigg.com/>> >> > They are made out of some sort of metal and we love them. Guest guest
Hi Michellle They are ok but are a combination of different metals and, what I didn't know until someone posted on here recently is that that combination varies an awful lot. Sometimes SS contains aluminium and always contains nickel. Aluminium is really really toxic, nickel is bad too. Someone suggested testing with a magnet. If the magnet sticks to it, it's a better combo. Glass is better but not always practical, i.e. sometimes not allowed ins chools. Guest guest
I think the safest is the glass bottles which are constantly used in German Schools... I got one here make is Emil.. it is toughened glass in a polystyrene protector in a fabric bag.. They are brilliant.. can get them with or without sports drink lids.. in either 330 o 500ml bottles.. They are considered safe enough for German schools.. not sure what club stupid in the UK Govt H and S group will make of them though. Best wishes Tracey I do not think anything aluminium is safe even if polymerised or covered.. it still leeches through... from what I have read... Also stainless steel is still toxic.. may get safer stainless on the continent.. would not touch if using with fruit juices... We have settled for the filter bottle sold by Red 23 as the water is filtered from bottle before drinking... We use hydrogen peroxide to clear smells and safely disinfect..
