Guest guest
Well, I know what you mean about worrying over major dental stuff. has all her permanent teeth, but the wisdom are going to be tricky. Hopefully, they will come in OK, but most people have trouble with them. In fact, mine are still in. The Dr. hasn't tried the Xrays yet, he did seal her molars with good success. It's hard to keep mouth dry while doing it, but she tolerated it well. As far as the battery brushes, I have the Crest one, REACH, and ORAL B. The bristles on the REACH do not MOVE, but she likes the vibration on the brush, but tends to bite the brush. The Crest brush is good, the head is bigger. The Oral B is best in that the brush head is small and if she squirms around you can stop the brush. For the price though, if you're not happy with it, you can get another since they are cheap. I try to do the best I can, she needs supervision with her brushings. I have to keep at her, she will stop if I don't keep prompting her. Re: Daughter just hit puberty...help! If I could just keep Abby 5 forver, life would be good. LOL. As for the deoderant she already wears it, not because she needs it but she just likes the sensation of putting it on. So I am hopeing that continues. . I dont think that I have ever talked to you before, where are you from? I am in FREEZING cold michigan. My daughter is telling me to sign off the computer, she has been sick with the flu this week, hence the damanding tone in her voice. Only happens when she's sick. This flu really kicked her butt. Talk to you later. Pennie Hope to see more posts from you soon
Guest guest
Thanks for the recommendation...looks like I'll really have to get to the store for one of those toothbrushes!! I'm glad your daughter is handling the dental checkups well. My daughter's dentsist tried those glasses, but didn't like them. Hmm, cherry-flavored dental floss?? I'd like some too!! <smile> Vickie Re: Daughter just hit > puberty...help! > > > If I could just keep Abby 5 forver, life would be good. Guest guest
My other daughter Becky, who is nonautistic, and goes to a different dentist, also gave her Cherry Berry Dental Floss by & . It came in a clear package so you can see the innards of how the string is wound and the color. She LOVES IT!! Haven't tried it on though!! Guest guest
I am going to check out BJ's and see if they carry it. Anything that makes our girls happy is worth it!! Plus we have some pretty big stores, so I'll see what I can find. Guest guest
Vickie Skylar has one of the toothbrushes and she loves it. She says it tickles her teeth.LOL. Skyl also sees a dentist who works with special needs and regular patients. The first few years were very difficult. It would take 3 of us to hold her down. ( She originally went to see her because of a fall that deadened her two front teeth and they had to be removed.) Now she sees her every 6 months for a check up and cleaning. The dentist has been very patient with Sky. She puts sunglasses on her so that the bright light doesn't bother her and even gives her new toothbrushes, stickers etc when she is done. Now Sky doesn't mind going to the dentist. She is always a little apprehensive when sitting down in the chair, but after that is fine and lets the dentist do what she needs too. It was a very long road to get to this point but I am glad it is here. Sky is quick to remind the Dr. if she has forgotten to get the sunglasses out for her. The dentist has even managed to get her to floss her teeth by giving her cherry flavored dental floss. My only problem is that I can't seem to find it in any of our drug stores so that she will keep it up Tracey. Guest guest
That is exactly what Skylar got. She loves it too, but I haven't been able to find it in a drug store. I am hoping it isn't just something that dentists get and not available to the public. Since Sky loves it so much it would be an easy way to keep her flossing her teeth.
