Guest guest
Hi everyone, my daughter has had severe infantile scoliosis and last year we stared with the brace but it hasn't done anything to help her. A year ago the curve of her spine was 52 degrees and we just had another one done yesterday and she is now at 64 degrees. The doctors want her to have the growing rod surgery next spring and I am so scared. My daughter Jada is 3, she has heart defects and lung problems that make surgery risky and I just don't feel confident that she is going to get through the surgery without complications from her other problems...not to mention she just had open heart surgery less than 4 months ago! Ive been reading a lot about the casting and there is a hospital not too far from here that does it but all the info I've read refers to children younger than 2 years old. Does anyone have any information about older kids being braced and the success rate? Thanks so much! H.
