Hi TraceyI have just received an email from regarding the Scotson therapy, it states -During the first year

families make 5 visits of one week each to the centre . So does that mean you visit for 5 weeks out of the year, i thought i was only 5 days in the year, am i reading it wrong? x Autism Treatment From: thelifechangers@...Date: Mon, 18 Jan 2010 10:14:50 +0000Subject: Re: Scotson Therapy Progress

Hi Sara

LIke NIc I have been doing the massage on myself too... It is really easy to do when lying in bed in the morning or late at night.. as the massage can be done on front and back or just on the front... I too have noticed a more positive frame of mind and that my breathing has improved.. I had got into a bad habit of holding my breath when stressed... which of course makes the stress worse!! Also my body is becoming more supple.. I notice more flexiblity in my shoulders too...

When you go to learn the massage, you do part of it on yourself to get the feel of it... so you will be trained on how to massage yourself during your first group of training.. the initial 5 days.

Best Wishes

Hi

Each learning session is five days... and there are either 4 or 5 session in the first year...

so this means 5x 5 x 2hours of sessions= 50 hours of learning in the first year.

The visits can be done in 2 hours per day.. ie one training session per day.. or 2 x2 hours per day so that you only need to be there for 2.5 days.

Because Tatijana is so able and does her own therapy, we have managed to do 3x2 hours in one day, however she is exceptional as far as the normal Scotson guidelines go.

Every 3 months the exercises are progressed and as they are so different each time, it really does take the full 10 hours of training to get them into my brain and muscle memory.

I hope that this makes sense

If it helps feel free to call me.  01359 231537

Best wishes

I'm glad you asked that, . That is such a ridiculous amount of

time! Don't think we'll be doing it after all.
