Guest guest
Welcome Diane, and isn’t it good, when you start seeing something positive.......we may have to work hard for our kids, but it pays off. Cheryl S [Australia] HI ! NEW HERE My name is Diane and my dd, 8, is pdd-nos. Would love to correspond with other moms with dd's with the same dx. She is on dexadrine because of attention/hyper issues which is our savior! She also has insomnia because of the dexadrine so we give her a piece of melatonin before bed and it works like a charm. Happier that I do not have to give her another med for sleep. She is schooled and homeschooled 6 hrs a week. Had to fight the principal on this one but in the end I won! The best thing we ever did. She is up to grade level because of the one-on-one intervention. We live in Montreal, glad to be here. dianeque@...

Guest guest
Hi Diane Welcome to the list. My name is Tracey and I live in Ontario. I have two daughters, Coral age 12, and Skylar age 10 next month. Sky was diagnosed autistic at the age of 3. She goes to our local school and is integrated into a regular classroom with a full time E.A. She is doing great! She is now verbal, has friends, and is doing well with her school work. This is a great list full of support and ideas. Its nice to have you with us. Tracey dianeque wrote: > My name is Diane and my dd, 8, is pdd-nos. I home school both she and her 7 yo ADHD sister at present; neither are on any meds, just herbs and vitamins. This is a wonderful group full of needed info and support, and only occasional grouses! If you ever feel a need to talk, we are always here! Aviv
Guest guest
Dear Tracey, I live in Melbourne Australia, the reason your e-mail caught my eye is that I have 2 daughters the same age 12 and Lizzie 10 (with autism). She just started at our local school with an integration aide and is enjoying immensley. She has her older sister there this year but she'll be going on to secondary school next year (I think it's what the americans call junior high) Joanne (Melbourne, Australia) Re: HI ! Guest guest
Hi Joanne Seems like our lives are quite similar. We live in a small town in Ontario, Canada. We are a small community and so we don't have a Junior High. Sky and Coral will be in the same school for this year and next before Coral goes off to the High School which is 20 minutes away. I think Sky will be okay with it when Coral goes off to another school, but I am not so sure I will be ready for it :-). Glad to hear that Lizzie is enjoying her school. It makes life so much easier when they enjoy school. Look forward to hearing more about you and your girls.
