Guest guest
and others, My name is Tara I am not very active with this group, but I read your posts daily. I was very interested in the cord blood discussion. When my son was born we knew he had a 50% chance of having XLA. They used the cord blood to test for that. No one ever talked to us about banking cord blood. In fact, before I delivered I had to go in and reassure the nurses there that the cord blood sample was for genetics testing and not going to a bank. I guess the hospital I delivered at did not allow collection of cord blood. I am not exactly sure why that is. Could that cord blood have been a cure for my son? If I have another baby would any of you recommend saving that cord blood and if I have another son with XLA would it work for both of them?
