Guest guest
Hello:) a mini miracle took place this morning. Hopefully it will be the first of many this month as we make our first treck to ish Rite on Wednesday! I took Ben to the after hours clinic ran by our ped due to a cronic cough he is unable to shake. We have had him out of brace to try and ease the cough. I finally took him in due to our pending apt and cast date AND a horrible rash. He got up hacking and told me he had a terrible cough. I told him we would go to the doc and get some meds and on the way we talked about what would take place when we got there. As usual he was fine in the waiting room. He froze when the rn came out and called his name but willingly walked back. He semi cooperated with temp and weight.. Forget the pulse which is standard for him. Once we got in the room I talked to him again about the check up. For the first time EVER he let the doc listen to his chest while he sat on a chair! He wasn't hip on the eyes or ears but we didn't have to wrestle him and he stayed faitly calm. I complimented him several times on how BRAVE he was For everyone worried about stress involved with docs this is a small celebration for Ben who has extreme doctor anxiety. He is getting better and more calm. Now we will see if that continues w cast apts coming up. I hope so. He even talked to one of the rn's about Santa and normally he won't even make eye contact. Wish us luck on our big adventure to Dallas! It is just the initial eval so we will find out what's in store for in the near future! Have a great week everyone.
