Guest guest
Amy - Children under 5 to 6 years old have fluctuating immune systems. Their systems are still trying to mature and haven't developed reliable function yet. Many pediatric patients diagnosed under 5 are termed transient because this may still resolve once their system matures. After 5 or 6 years old the doctors tend to think of the deficiency as a more long term disease and sometimes treatment will become more aggressive. His ENT would be the best source of information about the need for tubes. Has he seen a pediatric immunologist? Who ran the immune studies and do they have any type of experience in treating immune deficiency? Ursula Holleman and Macey's mom (8 yr. old with CVID, Diabetes Insipidus) http://www..com 1 year old son with iga deficiency I am trying to find some answers about my 1 year old son who was diagnosed with iga deficiency about 5 months ago. They have since retested him and his iga, igm, and igg levels have changed. What would cause the change and should I be concerned. His iga level went from less than 10 to 15. His igm went from 102 to 69 and his igg went from 432 to 567. Can you please email me with information. We are also going to go see a specialist next week about having tubes put in his ears because of recurrent ear infections. Is this a wise choice? Please email me with answers-I would so appreciate it. Thanks again-Amy
