Pycnogenol and lithium orotate have both helped him with this. Cranial osteopathy also helps him. Have they tested for metals? High copper can also cause ADHD, as can too much fish oil. There is currently someone (can't remember who) doing research into nicotine patches for ADHD and some people (maybe on this list?) have tried it I think. I would also do some IgG and IgE testing. I've pasted some info below which I've saved from other groups and one from a website I think. ** For high copper increasing zinc or selenium helps. GFCF did littel for me without adequate supplementation. "children with starving brains" is a very techie but excellent book that mentions some supplements that can also help ADHD and autism. How long was the gf/cf diet attempted? It took 8 months for gluten to get out of my system and after a pseudo regression (in fact deficiencies had appeared that were previously covered by my addiction) all except my sleeping problems had resolved themselves. Here is a list of 'brain' vitamins that you might want to look into: DMAE Phosphotydl Chloline Vinpocetene Anaricatetam Piracetam PC, DMAE and the racetams (either piracetam or aniracetam) all work synergistically. So... if you need less of the aniracetam and the piracetam if you use all of these together. ie. Using aniracetam along with piracetam means you need less piracetam and if you add PC and DMAE to the mix... you need less of all of them. Note that it is advised to take magnesium at bedtime when you are using the racetams. ** i find magnesium calms me and recently have discovered (last night in fact) that low zinc, low mag and low calcium supplementation especially for my gfcf living have contributed to my heightened anxiety state. Commonly grouped together: L-tyrosine (reportedly helps with ADD issues) L-theanine (use at bedtime if you try it.... makes me drowsy) taurine (for hyperactive kids) ** Interesting since im asperger but yet 1g of taurine helps me to sleep. i hear taurine is good for those with chlorine exposure since our bodies cant process chlorine properly. This causes the night time hyperactivity. Bettaine (DMG) Ginsing is also good for ADHD issues as it helps to quiet the brain. A great book on this subject is called "Optimum Nutrition for the Mind" by Holford and he really details the dosages, what the supplement actually does, what it is made of.... etc. It's a pretty good book. Thanks for the information on the brain vitamins, Centrophenoxine looks like something i should investigate as ive got problems with all the areas it can help. :-)-- is New!
