New Member in Melbourne, Australia - advice?

Hi everyone,

My daughter had her 1st xray on Friday and has a 73 degree curve (2.5 years

old). We are having an MRI this coming week to see if there are any further

complications. The specialist we saw in Melbourne said he does casting and is

familiar with the Mehta method, however I don't know if they have an AMIL frame

in Melbourne to do the correct traction?? I will ask the questions when we go

back after MRI, however thought someone may know if there is any specialists &

frame in Melbourne or whether we will need to go to Sydney for the best

treatment? Given the very progressed curvature & late age, I know we need to act

fast.

All the internet research I've done only indicates the one specialist in Sydney

and the one AMIL table in Sydney - but I'm hoping that things have changed since

2008...

I had adolescent scoliosis my self and have zilke rods, spinal fusion and

harrington rods x 2 surgery at the age of 16 & 18 - I want to avoid the surgery

option at all costs for my little girl.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
