Guest guest
Dear , Possibly you daughter is approaching puberty and going through the same hormonal ups and downs my daughter experienced over the past year. As my daughter seems to lose her language the more she gets upset, its hard sometimes to interpret whether something is really hurting her internally or its a bad mood swing. So we get the screaming. crying and running all around the house until she calms down enough and can tell us what hurts. We are still trying to help her out with supplements, as medication didn't work for her anger management (Risperdol). Mood Swings/Depression > I tried to post this yesterday, but it would not go through. Guest guest
Hi , I do not have an answer to your question regarding whether the behaviors your daughter exhibits are autism related or depression but I can say that my 8 year old is exactly the same way and has been since about age 2. It is hard to say if it is getting worse with puberty coming upon us or if my tolerance has decreased. She started taking zoloft ayear ago and it helped lessen the anger until the last few months... we have increased her dosage but still things are stressful. I have read a book about bipolar disorder in children trying to see if my daughter fit into that category more so than the high functioning autism and it does state that children cycle through moods much more rapidly than adults so keep that in mind. Good Luck on your upcoming doctor visit and keep us posted. Lyn
