Guest guest
I just wanted to share with everyone. My granddaughter, who is 5 and up to a very short while ago was just about non verbal, surprised us again tonight. My daughter just called to tell me about this. She was crying and her father asked her what was wrong and she said " I have to go potty " (they are still working on getting her trained). My daughter went into the bathroom with her and even though she was on the toilet she continued to cry. My daughter asked her why she was crying and Jackie said " It hurts " ! We are all thrilled that she was able to communicate this to her mother. My daughter will be getting a urine specimen done tomorrow to see if she has a urinary tract infection. I am 100% convinced that this very recent speech is due to the therapy she has been getting for an inflamed bowel that was discovered when she had a diagnostic endoscopy and colonoscopy and something I just got from Kirkman Labs - TMG with Folic Acid and Vitamin B12. She has taken DMG with Folic Acid and we did see some improvement with it. Then she gave my daughter such a hard time taking it, that she stopped giving it to her. Someone suggested another brand of dmg which she bought locally. My granddaughter took it better then the dmg from Kirkman, but it did not have folic acid in it and her behavior and stimms got really bad so it was stopped. Two weeks ago I asked my daughter if she thought we should give the dmg from Kirkman a try again. When I was on their website to order it, I started reading about TMG and then talked to my daughter about trying this instead of the dmg. I ordered it along with the Colostrum Gold. The TMG is really helping her verbalize. My daughter and I are both sure of it. Now I know that what works for some of these children does not work for all and believe me, I am not pushing Kirkman's products. I just wanted to share this great news with all on the list. -- June Guerin-Najdek mailto:jn516@...

Guest guest
Hi Charlene, thanks, and yes it is great news. I'm so glad I have this and other autism email lists to share this great news with. People who have not experienced autism, just would not appreciate just how much those words mean to us. cheezer wrote: > That is very good news! > > > >-- great moment > > > >I just wanted to share with everyone. Guest guest
Congrats! That is great news! We intend to try either Kirkman's TMG or DMG in the near future. Whichever we get must have folic acid in it because the last thing we need is for Cristina to be more active. This gives me even more hope than before. Thanks for sharing! ~Amy mamaznutz@... Guest guest
Hi Amy, how old is Cristina and how verbal is she? Please let me know how you make out with either the dmg or the tmg. On Saturday my daughter had a surprise 40th birthday party for her husband. I honestly don't know how she managed to pull it off but she did. Anyway, with everything she had to do, she missed the 1st dose on Saturday which explained why Jackie was very quiet. When we got home, my daughter also realized how quiet Jackie was and then remembered she had missed giving her the TMG. She gave it to her as soon as she realized and about an hour or so later, she was chirping away.....mostly singing which is something she seems to do a lot of lately. Again please let me know who does with whatever you decide to try. Amy Beyer-Boswell wrote: >Congrats! That is great news! We intend to try either Kirkman's TMG or DMG in the near future. Guest guest
She is 3 1/2 and is nonverbal. Though she does imitate the " h " sound and we can sometimes get her to say " mmmm " . One funny thing she does is to get your attention, she'll stand there looking at you forcing this fake laughing sound till you look. It's really cute. Though she isn't talking, we have heard her say maybe 6-7 words scattered over the last year. She is very motivated to communicate with signs (she knows about 30) and PECS so I'm encouraged that she is trying to talk. I'll be sure to keep you posted once we start with the DMG or TMG. ~Amy mamaznutz@... Guest guest
The fact that youheard sounds before 6 to 7 words and that she isusing alot of signs is a great indication. I truely believe she will talk soon. Also forcing this fake laugh until you look I believe is an interaction with others that shows she brings things in. Shes showing excelent imitation and progress. My daughter did have some interaction at 3 also. she would say about 10 words consistantly never sentences. Sometimes I was there too her and sometimes I wasnt. She is almost 9 end of this month and talks great. Behavior on the other hand she is very difiant At school she is quiet as a mouse and they say she acts like she has her head in the clouds. Also when they ask her to do things she acts like she cant hear. They dont understand her disability here. Charlene -- Re: great moment She is 3 1/2 and is nonverbal. Guest guest
Hi, my name is and I have a 13 yr old autistic daughter, could you send me the website for the Kirkmans tmg? I would like to try it with our daughter. She is just starting to verbalize, and I am willing to try anything that would work for her. Even if it doesn't help in our case, at least I know I gave it a shot. Anyone who can help with this information, I would greatly appreciate it. You can send it to me at countrygirltoo_2000@..., thanks. ---------------------------------
